Two Wolves
In one story from Native American folklore, the grandfather explains to his little grandson the internal struggle between good and evil:
‘There is a fight going on in each of us,’ the grandfather begins. ‘It is a fight between two wolves. One wolf is the embodiment of all evil, such as hatred, anger, jealousy, resentment, greed, arrogance, lie, and selfishness. The other wolf is the embodiment of all Good, such as love, joy, peace, hope, peace, humility, kindness, empathy, generosity, compassion, truth and faith.’
The grandson thinks about these words and then asks, ‘Which wolf will win?’
Grandfather will answer: ‘The one you’re going to feed!’
When we feel miserable and we get depressed, we can win by starting to ‘feed’ the opposite of how we feel. The key is to start expressing gratitude and tune in positively, and suddenly we notice that we are becoming happier, more optimistic and successful.
Negativism is like a baby wolf. When we feed him, he will grow into depression – a furious, predatory and adult wolf who will pounce on us at every opportunity. However, when we start feeding his counterpart, we will have a strong and certain defender against such attacks.
How to distinguish these two wolves from each other? How to know which one we are feeding? Whenever we think of a thought that makes us feel dissatisfied, angry, or criticized, we can be sure that it is a bad wolf! We don’t want to be his next food! Instead, there is a need feed the latter by that by We will fill our minds and hearts with positive, encouraging, empowering and faith-building thoughts.
We may not be able to prevent the evil wolf from appearing, but if we are smart, we will not wait for it to appear – we will be proactive! – We’ll start feeding the good wolf now! And the more we will Feeding with a supply of positive information – what we read, what we look at, what we listen to, etc., the stronger we will be! Then, when it comes to the fight, the evil wolf always pulls his tail and runs away.’

A good-natured 83-year-old lady was moving to a retirement home. Her husband died recently, which was why she decided to move.
After many hours of patiently waiting in the hallway of the home, she smiled sweetly when she was told that her room was ready. In the elevator, they described her future room, including the appearance of the curtains.
‘I like it,’ she said excitedly with an eight-year-old girl who had just received a new pet.
‘Mrs. Kučerová, you didn’t even see the room, just wait!’
‘It doesn’t matter,’ she replied. ‘The joy of life is something I decided on a long time ago. Whether I like my room or not depends on how the furniture is arranged, but how I arrange my mind. A I decided in advance that I would like it!
‘Every morning when I wake up, I make a decision like this. – I have a choice; I can spend a day in bed and eat the problems about my body parts that don’t work, or get out of bed and be grateful for the parts that work!’

We want God to rid us of all our problems, pain, sorrow and suffering. However, he wants to work on us first. Transformation in our life will not happen until we renew our minds and begin to change our thoughts.
Our thoughts are powerful and influential. They have a tremendous ability to shape our life for good or bad. Someone may have believed the lies someone told him growing up, ‘You’re not important! You’re worthless!’ And if he accepted this idea, even if it was not true, it shaped his life.
How to watch your thoughts? Explore them! – If they are good and positive or not. Careless and random thinking leads to a sloppy and random life.
This is one of the reasons we can be mentally tired: There is a fight going on in our brains 24 hours a day. Satan is trying to neutralize our mind – our greatest strength for this fight. He wants us to focus on the negative and destructive thoughts that distract us from God’s love and goodness. This fight can be exhausting.
Our thoughts determine our feelings and our feelings determine our actions. If you want to change your life, change your thoughts!
Watch out for what you’re thinking!
