He’s alive!

A wonderful song by Dolly Parton

The gates and doors were locked,

All windows closed,

But I didn’t close my eye either

And he woke up with every sound.

Half of hopeless sadness

And half out of fear,

that the soldiers will come

And they will drag us all away.

Just before sunrise

I heard something,

Someone was struggling with the gate

And he called.

I hurried to the window,

I looked out on the street

in anticipation of swords and torches

and the sound of marching soldiers.

But no one was there, only Mary,

So I went downstairs to let her in.

Jan stood beside me,

When she told us where she was.

She said they moved him at night

And no one knows where.

The stone was rolled

And his body is not in the tomb!

So we both ran to the garden,

Jan ran in front of me.

We found a rolled stone and an empty grave,

Exactly as Marie said.

the wrapped substance in which they wrapped it,

It was just an empty hood.

How and where they moved it,

we could only argue.

Something strange happened there,

But what, I had no idea!

John believed in miracles,

But I just turned and left.

I couldn’t rise up

over the circumstances, nor to speculate,

After all, I saw with my own eyes,

How they crucified him

And I saw how he died.

Back in the house

I plunged into guilt and anxiety again.

Everything I promised him,

It just contributed to my shame,

Because in his worst hour,

I denied knowing him at all.

And even if he was alive,

It wouldn’t be the same!

Out of the blue, an unusual sweet smell filled the air,

The sudden light shone through all the corners and drove the shadows out of the room

and with arms wide open

Jesus stood before me.

I fell to my knees, hugged him

And he cried.

He picked me up and pulled me up.

I only shyly dared to look him in the eye,

Like sunlight from the sky – but only love shone from it.

all the feeling of guilt and confusion I felt,

He disappeared into sweet release.

And all my fear has dissipated

And he turned it into complete peace.

He’s alive, yes, he’s alive!

Yes, he is alive and I am forgiven!

the gates of heaven are open wide

He’s alive, yes, he’s alive…

Hallelujah, he is alive!

He lives!

I believe he is alive!

Amazing Jesus!
