You are important to God

According to Rick Warren

One of our deepest needs is a sense of security and acceptance. We don’t want to be insecure all the time. We want to know that our life matters. We are looking for the meaning and meaning of life.

The problem is that many of us are looking for meaning in the wrong places. We are constantly comparing ourselves to others. We subtly ask ourselves (and others) if we are good enough. This inevitably leads to uncertainty.

God wants us all to be sure of His love for us. Our only foundation for self-esteem and a good feeling about ourselves is understanding how much we care about God.

Here are three truths about how much each of us matters to God.

1. It doesn’t matter how small you feel,

Jesus knows about you

Over the years I have heard from many people about how invisible they feel. They have the mistaken feeling that no one sees them and what they do for God and others doesn’t matter to anyone. But God knows who you are and pays attention to what you do.

From the moment you took your first breath, he followed you. You never did anything that surprised him. He knows every detail of your life, from beginning to end. He has heard every criticism that has been brought upon you in the past or that will be expressed in the future.

Jesus said to us, ‘God will never overlook a single[vrabce]. And he pays even more attention to you, down to the last detail – He even counts the hair on your head!’. (Luke 12:6-7).

The biggest way anyone can show us love is to give us attention. God shows incredible attention to every detail of our life.

2. It doesn’t matter who ignores you,

Jesus knows you

Sometimes we feel like no one is listening to us. Sometimes you feel like you’re just talking to the wind. But Jesus hears you. You are unforgettable for him.

The Bible says: Will a woman forget her baby? Does he have compassion for his own child? But even if they forgot, I will never forget you! Behold, I carved you in my palm, … I still have (you) in sight. Isaiah 49:15-16 B21

A mother will never forget her baby. Even God won’t cough on you, no matter how forgettable you sometimes feel. The god of the universe has your name written on his palms. Keep reminding yourself! Every morning you remember it and your whole day will be more beautiful!

3. No matter what you did,

Jesus wants you

Maybe you are ashamed of some things in your life. We are all ashamed! We do not reach our own standards, nor the standards of others – and certainly not the ones of God!

A lot of people are afraid that people will learn something about their past. They spend a lot of energy to hide it and pray that no one will find out. Jesus knows about everything you’ve ever done and loves you anyway!

Jesus doesn’t want to judge you, but he wants to help you change.

The Bible reminds us in John’s Gospel 3:17 ‘After all, God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him’

This truth is not only intended for others, but belongs to you personally!

Always keep in mind how much you matter to God – and how he wants to use you for his glory in this world.
