The Power of Prayer unabled How it works and how to use it

God does not look at prayer as a ritual, but as a lively, friendly conversation between good friends.

However, many people are of the opinion that it is impossible to talk to God like this. Some have the impression that they are not religious and spiritual enough. Others think that God is too big and far away for them, or they believe that he is too busy and does not have time for their problems, which must seem petty to him anyway. Some feel they don’t deserve it because they’re not good enough. Others feel guilty or ashamed of what they have done. Others are even afraid of him. If only they knew how differently God looks at everything!

God wants to have a personal relationship with each of us and wishes it to be the deepest, most valuable, satisfying and most natural part of our life. It does not mean that he wants to deprive us of interpersonal relationships and activities that we like to engage in and that we consider important. On the contrary, he would like to become a part of them. He wants to make our daily life easier and give a deeper meaning to the things we experience. In a word, he wants to make our lives better. He would like to add a new dimension to everything we do – the dimension of his loving presence.

How do we build such a relationship, especially when we feel that we are too insignificant and do not deserve it? How to make contact? Simply: Through His Son, Jesus!

None of us can fully understand how great and wonderful God our Father is, because he and his spirit are greater than the entire universe. He is so impeccable to our reason that he had to send us someone who would show us his love, whom we could know, and who would bring God closer to the level of our limited human understanding. Therefore he sent his Son, Jesus.

Jesus lived on earth in human form for thirty-three years and experienced the joys and sorrows experienced by us humans. (See John 1:1-3:14; Hebrews 4:15.) Jesus came here to better understand us and become a connection between us and God. (See 1 Timothy 2:5.)

We can act intimately with Jesus. He even told us to let him enter our hearts: ‘Behold, I stand before the door and beat; if someone hears my voice and opens my voice, I will come to it and I will have dinner with it, and he with me’ (Revelation 3:20). We can have direct personal contact with him. Through him we can come before God.

If you prayed and accepted Jesus into your heart, you made contact with him. If not, you can do so right now if you sincerely pray this simple prayer:

Dear Jesus, please come into my heart. Forgive me for everything I’ve ever done wrong. Give me your gift of eternal life in heaven and fill me with your love. Amen.

A story is told about a priest who did not understand why a poorly dressed person comes to his church every noon, only to leave again after a few minutes. Why is he doing this? So he asked the administrator to ask the person. After all, there were very valuable items.

‘I go to pray,’ answered the person’s question.

‘That’s not possible,’ objected the administrator, ‘you’re not there long enough to pray.’

‘I can’t pray for a long time, but every day at twelve o’clock I come and say: ‘Jesus, here Peter’. I’ll wait a while, and then I’ll leave. Even if it’s just a short prayer, I think he can hear me.’

Later it happened that Petr was injured and was taken to the hospital. The entire department felt its positive influence. The eternally dissatisfied patients were smiling and laughter was often heard.

‘Petra,’ a nurse once came to him, ‘people say you are responsible for the change in the ward. They say you are still happy.’

‘That’s true. I can’t do it any other way. You know, my visit. Every day brings me joy.’

‘Your visit?’ the nurse didn’t understand. She noticed that Peter’s chair was always empty during visiting hours because he was a lonely person and had no relatives. ‘Your visit? And when does he come?’

‘Every day,’ Peter’s eyes lit up. ‘Yes, every day at twelve o’clock he comes and stands up to my bed. I look at him and he smiles and says: ‘Peter, here Jesus.’

Prayer opens the door between our emptiness and God’s fullness. It is a connection between human needs and God’s supplies.

*

You must learn to personally connect with God’s strength and give him the opportunity to bring you joy, health and happiness.

*

No one can do as much with such a small time release as if they said a prayer.

*

Prayer is easy.

It’s like you’re quietly opening the door

and slipped into God’s presence;

there in silence

He listened to him.

Perhaps he was praying,

Or was he just listening,

It doesn’t matter;

mainly to be

close to him-

That’s a prayer!

Prayer is communication

Your relationship with Jesus, like any deeper and lasting friendship, will be strengthened by frequent, sincere and open communication. And that’s exactly how prayer can be defined: it’s honest communication with God.

But how should one communicate with God? Surprisingly, it’s quite simple.

To begin with, try to sit in a quiet place and imagine Jesus sitting next to you. Then talk to him like you are having fun with a good friend. You can talk to him mentally or out loud. It doesn’t matter the specific words you say. Just tell him what’s on his mind.

You can pray anywhere and anytime. You don’t have to sit or stand. You don’t have to be in a church or in a certain church building or in any special place. Prayer connects your heart to God regardless of the surrounding environment.

Many people believe that prayer means asking God for different things. Yes, but that’s only one part of the prayer. Of course, God wants you to tell him about your needs, but he also wants you to just spend time with him and tell him how you are and how you are doing. Tell him how much you love him and how grateful you are for all the good things he sends you. Tell him about your dreams and desires and your problems and questions. He will give you strength, inspiration, security and the answers you need.

Jesus is waiting for your call – it is only far away for prayer – and he will always be happy to give you a helping hand and listen to you. He is interested in you and everything you experience. He is happy when he can listen to you and fill out your requests.

              However, prayer is something more.

Jesus would also like to communicate and talk with you. He wants to give you personal words of love and encouragement and help you with problems. He knows all the answers, but how can he give them to you if you don’t listen to him? You must learn to recognize his voice as it speaks to you and puts its thoughts into your mind.

Jesus will also talk to you through his written word – the Bible – but in order to draw from it fully, you must pray and listen to him while reading. Then he can explain to you how to apply the given text in today’s world. It will fill in the spaces and details of the otherwise very general answers in the font. And again the key is in listening.

Whether you have to listen or speak, you can communicate with God at the speed of thought! It’s not like sending letters to someone by mail and then you have to wait days and weeks for a reply. It’s not even like sending e-mail over the Internet, where you can receive an answer from the opposite side of the globe in a few minutes. God hears your prayers even before he leaves your mouth, and you may have answers in an instant. (See Isaiah 65:24.) Maybe sometimes he won’t give you the whole answer or bring you the immediate result you desire, but at least he will tell you that he heard your prayer and that he started working on it. Just this reassurance can give you peace of mind and eliminate the problems that will seem like huge mountain ranges. And if you present the same matter to him again later in prayer, he will continue the work he has started and show you how you can help fulfill his will in the given situation and bring it to a happy and successful end.

What benefit does prayer benefit?

There are many benefits that flow from time spent with God. Jesus will help you solve all the problems, give you the answer to every question, heal the aching heart, please you when you are sad, give you joy and bring you closer to heaven. But that’s not all.

Prayer changes circumstances and human hearts. It is one of the ways in which God fulfills their children’s desires and needs if it is good for them and others. ‘If you believe, you will receive everything you ask for in prayer’ (Matthew 21:22).

You will be mentally strengthened. Time spent in quiet contemplation and listening builds an inner strength that will help you overcome the most difficult moments of life. ‘You answered me the day I called you, you gave my soul strength.’ (Psalm 138:3).

You will rest and find inspiration as you fall on your mind and worry. ‘Come to me, all you who exert yourself and are burdened with burdens, and I will give you rest. Take upon yourself my yoke and learn from me, for I am quiet and humble in heart: and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke It does not push and does not burden the burden’ (Matthew 11:28-30).

You will see life in a better light because you will look at everything through the eyes of faith. Once you give something to God in prayer, you can be sure that he will take care of it according to his will. It will be easier for you to fight with fears and everything will look more optimistic. ‘We know that everything helps to good to those who love God’ (Romans 8:28). ‘We live from faith, not from what we see’ (2 Corinthians 5:7).

In times of grief you will find comfort, when you are unhappy, you will find reassurance, and if you don’t know where to go, you will find the courage to move on. Jesus will help you see the problems on the right scale – as he sees them – and calm your mind. ‘Heals those who are tangled in the heart, bandages their wounds’ (Psalm 147:3).  ‘When restlessness grows within me, Your comfort will fill me with pleasure’ (Psalm 94:19).

Accept what God shows you, act accordingly and you will be wiser. ‘If one of you has a lack of wisdom, let him ask God, who gives to all without reservations and without remorse, and be given to him’ (Jakub 1:5).

Jesus will guide you through the maze of life. It will help you act correctly when problems and serious decisions get in your way. He promised to lead your thoughts and direct your steps. ‘Know him on all your ways, he himself will straighten your paths’ (Proverbs 3:6). ‘And with your own ears you will hear the word behind you: ‘That’s the way, follow it,’ whether you want to right or left’ (Isaiah 30:21).

He’ll give you good ideas. ‘Call to me and I will answer you. I want to tell you great and incredible things that you do not know’ (Jeremiah 33:3).

Jesus will prevent some problems because he will alert you to them in advance. It will provide you with a solution to other problems. ‘… He who listens to me will live in safety and live peacefully and without fear…’ (Proverbs 1:33).

You can be healed. ‘The prayer of faith will save the sick’ (Jakub 5:15).

can you get forgiveness for wrongdoing. ‘I confessed my sin to you, I did not hide my iniquity, I said: ‘I confess my unfaithfulness to the Lord.’ And you took away from me evil and my sin’ (Psalm 32:5).

You will better understand the physical world and the spiritual sphere. ‘As it is written: ‘What the eye did not see and the ear did not hear, what did not even come to man’s mind, God prepared for those who love him.’ (1 Corinthians 2:9-10).

Prayer draws from God’s strength, so you will be able to achieve more with less effort. ‘He gives the faint of strength and enough courage to the helpless. 40:29,31).

Your mind will be calmer. ‘Don’t worry, but in every prayer and request, give thanks and present your desires to God. And the peace of God, surpassing every thought, will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus’ (Philippians 4:6-7).

You can demand the provision of your material needs from God. ‘Please, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; beat, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who begs receives, and who seeks, finds, and he who beats shall be opened’ (Matthew 7:7-8).

Jesus will open the treasures of his word to you if you pray as King David: ‘Open my eyes so that I can understand all of your word’ (Psalm 119:18).

God will help you if you don’t know what to ask for. ‘So the spirit also comes to the aid of our weakness. After all, we don’t even know how and what to pray for, but the spirit itself intercedes for us…’ (Romans 8:26).

A few days after our seven-year-old son Petr was praying for the Bible with capital letters, I went to see how much the Bible costs. Even the cheapest one was too expensive by our standards. I confided in Peter’s prayer to the merchant and asked him if he could give me a little consolidation given that we are volunteer missionaries. As soon as I finished, the merchant talked about something that at first glance had no connection.

Seven years ago, one blind woman was miraculously healed through prayer. Out of gratitude to God, she entrusted the merchant with $500 to keep them. Then she commissioned him to pay the Bible from ‘her account’ for the one who would come to his shop and want the Bible, but would not have to pay.

With those words he pointed to the book shelf and encouraged me to choose which Bible I wanted. And who says that God does not answer prayers!

On the wings of prayer, trouble flies

And all burdens cease to weigh,

dejected hearts will jump with joy,

Healed with balm from the heavenly height.

Then tears from our eyes dry with their hands

a kind father who always senses,

What we are afraid of and what is bothering us—

On the wings of prayer, fear is always lost.

One day I visited a poor school to show an educational film. When I arrived at the place, there was no electricity. I offered to pray to find the fault and be quickly removed. Ten minutes later, the electricity started to go again.

All the kids gathered to watch the video, but their video player was old and didn’t work very well no matter what we did. We decided to ask all students, teachers and employees – Muslims, Hindus and Christians – to ask Jesus with us to repair the device. When we finished the prayer, everything started to work. Everyone was excited. Not only could they watch the video, but they were very amazed at how God responds very specifically to prayer. Later, one of the employees noted: ‘We want to know more about God and his strength, which works such wonders.’

In a remote African village, a native boy was throwing himself on the bed in a fever, and his condition continued to deteriorate. The doctor – the missionary who cared for the boy, did everything in his power to reduce the fever, and now he needed ice. He quickly dismissed this idea. He would have to travel all day for the nearest ice.

‘Can’t God send ice for my beloved son?’ the mother asked the sick boy. Then she reminded the missionaries what he told them in one sermon that God likes to do miracles for his children.

‘That’s right,’ said the missionary. ‘But ice? Here?’

The mother didn’t let herself get used to it and repeated again: ‘Shall we say a prayer?’

So they did it. The missionary prayed very vaguely and universally, while the boy’s mother went straight to the point.

‘Jesus, if it takes ice to heal my boy, send it. I believe you can do it.’

She hadn’t even finished the whole prayer yet, and a walnut-sized hail rolled into the hut. When they looked out, they saw a great hail.

‘God answered in his wonderful way!’ cried the mother.

The hail was only local and did not destroy the crop of the village. The son recovered completely. The news of this miracle spread around the neighboring villages and raised the faith of everyone who heard about it. And the missionary remembered that God also answers ‘impossible’ prayers.

Some of our acquaintances wanted to have a child, but without success. About a year ago, they asked us to pray for them. Two weeks later, they found out that the wife was pregnant, and a few weeks later they learned that they were going to have twins.

A rumor about it spread and other childless couples came to ask for a prayer. Currently, four more couples are expecting babies – including other twins!

The Persian fable tells us,

As one pilgrim set out

to the road on which he was enthroned

A piece of clay with a wonderful aroma.

‘What are you?’ He asked boldly,

‘Are you a jewel from a distant land perhaps?

Are you a nard or other treasure?

What are you hiding behind your disguise?

‘Nothing, I’m just a lump of dirt.’

‘And where did you get that perfume?’

‘If you must know my secret,

I enjoyed living with the roses.’

God, please dwell in us,

Let me also seep through the scent of your beauty.

One Christian in China was asked to contribute to a fund from which sacrifices will be paid to idols to protect against fire. He refused on the grounds that he believed in the living God, not in the idol, and that God would protect him from fire.

On the same evening, when the victims were presented, a fire broke out in the street where this Christian lived. Over 120 houses burned down. As the fire approached his house, the neighbors advised him to at least save the furniture, but he didn’t give them. Instead, he prayed aloud so that everyone would hear him, ‘Dear God, the only true God, show your existence and strength and spare my house from the flames.’

The fire was getting closer and closer until there was only one house left before the flames engulfed him. In this, the wind suddenly changed and his house was saved.

What benefit your prayers bring to others

Your prayers can not only change the circumstances for you, but can also significantly improve the lives of others. They say that praying for others is not the least you can do for them, but the greatest. Your prayers will move the heart and hand of God, and he will do something for them.

Through your prayers, other people can receive the same benefits as you when you pray for yourself – including comfort, protection, freedom from fear, healing, material security, etc.

By praying for them, you are directly helping them. Jesus often uses people as his representatives on earth, so it may well happen that he will want to use you to contribute to answering the prayers of others. Just the fact that you are praying for others reveals that you are interested in their good. You will also get into a position where you will better understand the plan that God has for them and how to make it happen. For example, when you pray for someone who is sick, God can tell you how to help stir up the dying faith of that person and thus realize a double purpose for the given disease: to heal him to the testimony of God’s miraculous power and to make his relationship blossom With God.

When you spend time with Jesus in prayer, he fills you with the fruit of the Spirit, which includes love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, kindness, loyalty, silence and self-control. (See Galatsky 5:22-23.) The more you fill with the Spirit, the more Jesus and his gifts are reflected in your daily life. ‘All of us … are transformed through his spirit to his image’ (2 Corinths 3:18).

Many years ago, many problems accumulated in a small, remote town in the northeastern United States – and troubled people.

One evening a group of Christians gathered and during the conversation one of them said: ‘Maybe we are not trained pastors and preachers, but something must be done to our city. Let’s create a prayer gathering and we can start by praying for one person. Who will it be?’

They chose the most stubborn man in the city, the hopeless drunk, and they all prayed for him. During the same week, he accepted Jesus as his Savior and became a new man. Then they focused on another man in prayer and he also changed. Then they prayed for more and more, until finally a year later several hundred people found Jesus and the city was changed.

How wonderfully they smile

Those who talk to God.

with light in the heart radiate

The joy that chirps from the soul.

How kindly do they

Those who walk with God,

No force can overcome them,

Nothing deprives them of hope.

How beautiful are people’s feet,

who want to follow his path.

Nor the shine of the crystal mirrors

wouldn’t be able to pull them away.

Some are afflicted with fear and fear,

Others will support the effort;

lovely faces adorn though

You who talk to God.

One night in April 1912, a woman who could not sleep was turning in bed. Out of nowhere, she was overcome with fears about her husband, who was somewhere in the middle of the Atlantic on a ship called the Titanic. She prayed desperately for him for several hours. Around five o’clock she was surrounded by peace and finally managed to fall asleep.

Meanwhile, her husband, Colonel Gracie, and the others frantically tried to launch the lifeboats from the huge ship that had just hit the glacier and sank rapidly. He gave up all hopes for his salvation, but tried to help women and children. He longed to send the last message to his wife and called from his heart: ‘Goodbye, darling!’

As the ship dived and headed towards the bottom of the ocean, it was drawn under the surface with a huge eddies. He instinctively began to swim under completely icy water and mentally call: Goodbye, darling, until we meet again!

Suddenly he found himself on the surface near the overturned boat. He climbed into it with several other people and the rescue ship found them the next morning.

When Colonel Gracie returned home and he and his wife told each other about their experiences, they realized that she had prayed for him at the time of his greatest danger. And not only that – according to the time at their home, he was saved at five o’clock in the morning – just when God assured his wife that everything was fine with him!

Don’t say I don’t know how you have to deal with life,

After all, I have been with you in the darkness of your night many times.

Although we were separated by hundreds of miles and we differed in age,

I often felt your grief and the wounds that weighed you down.

Don’t say you must have fought so alone and abandoned,

I stood with you in prayer before the throne;

With the shield of faith and the sword of the spirit I came to help,

When I first heard you calling that you were too worried.

don’t say it’s a delusion that I couldn’t hear you –

After all, we are all one in God, I was happy to help you.

He often tells my heart that I should pray,

I’ll kneel right away and even though you’re far away, I know you’re not alone.

How do prayers benefit God

We benefit from prayer a lot of benefits, so it can seem like we’re just getting without having to give anything. However, God looks at it differently. It is true that we need him, as we mentioned on the previous pages, but the most beautiful thing about it all is that he also needs us. He longs for us and in fact, as it is written, he is in love with us. The Bible constantly refers to us as his bride, and nothing could better describe the relationship that God wants to have with us. (See Isaiah 54:5, 62:5; Hosea 2:19-20; Romans 7:4; 2 Corinthians 11:2; Revelation 19:7-8.) So what does Jesus expect from you and Does he need? He needs basically the same as a man from his wife.

He longs for loving friendship and open communication. He wants to be assured that he has the first and most important place in her heart. You can prove this to him by spending time with him in prayer and by reading his word.

He is very happy to hear when you tell him how wonderful he is and how much you love and honor him. He loves your praise.

He wants to hear that you need him. Like any loving husband and God, he likes to provide for your needs and even knows better than what you need. (See Luke 12:32; Matthew 6:8.) Nevertheless, he is happy when you present your requests to him, because by doing so you show that you need him. Even he needs to feel needed. And of course when he takes care of you, he is happy if you thank him and show gratitude.

He needs your help. It would make him happy if you spread his love by being her example and mentioning him, those to whom he leads you. And in order to know exactly what specifically he wants from you and how to do it, you need to spend time with him and accept his guidance.

I met God to morning,

when the day was barely waking up,

His glow was like the sun,

shining in a clear sky.

He’s been talking to me all day

He soothed my mountain all day.

We sailed together in peace

The whole stormy sea.

Other ships tossed

In the wind he waved with them.

And though he brought them anxiety,

He gave us peace and quiet.

I remembered with regret

For the days I sailed alone,

When am I like others without him,

tossed, he didn’t know where to go.

And so through difficult roads

I recognized one secret:

God you must seek in the morning,

If you want to be with him during the day.

There are many Christians who begin to play with the gifts of God and the Spirit and forget God himself. Like when a father comes home with gifts for his children and the children grab the presents without greeting, sit on the floor and start playing with new toys.

It’s like in a story about a little girl who spent the time she usually spent with her father to make him a birthday slipper. God will be grateful for the bums you make for him, but he would rather have you. And to be honest, it’s very likely that you won’t succeed anyway if you forget God.

Book your time!

It takes time to communicate by itself. Considering everything you have to do, a few minutes spent with God before the start of the day will probably seem like a victim to you. And maybe a later short break to talk to Jesus will seem like a strange and unwelcome disturbance. However, it is a mistake to consider a moment spent in prayer as a waste of time, because no matter how busy you are, if you make time to pray, you will be able to do more than without it. It’s an investment. When you start to benefit from it, you’ll be surprised how you managed without it. Here are some tips to start with:

Purposefully exert effort. When you want to create any new habit, you have to purposefully make an effort for a certain period of time. The same is true in this case. You will have to focus more in the beginning. Sometimes you forget and sometimes you remember. Over time, however, you will remember more and more often and forget less and less.

The most important thing first. You will always find time for what you consider most important.

Reserve time for prayer in your daily schedule. King David wrote in the book of Psalms: ‘I call to God … in the evening, in the morning, at noon … he heard my voice!’ (Psalm 55:17,18). If you wait for everything to be done, you will never get to the prayer. If a certain time does not suit you, try to find another one.

Find a time and a place where you can be quiet and where you won’t be disturbed by the things around you.

Set achievable goals – to begin with, maybe five or ten minutes a day and later twice a day or more. Prayers don’t have to be long. When the disciples asked Jesus how to pray, the model prayer he taught them – now known as the Lord’s Prayer – contained only sixty-six words. (See Matthew 6:9-13.) It doesn’t matter how long you pray, but how much you believe and focus.

Take advantage of your free time during the day to quickly pray for encouragement. You can do so during a coffee break, in a traffic jam while you’re waiting for a meeting, while cooking, when you’re showering, when you’re putting your baby to sleep, when you’re out with the dog – basically almost anytime. Just focus your thoughts on Jesus and he will encourage you and give you strength and inspiration to take further steps. (See 1 Thessalonians 5:17; 1 Paralipomenon 16:11; Luke 18:1; 21:36.)

Keep in mind that if you get used to praying during another activity, you will still need quiet moments when you can fully focus on Jesus to hear what he wants to tell you.

If you ever forget your limited five-minute sessions, don’t give up. Try not to forget next time!

Robert G. Letourneau, the inventor and manufacturer of the world’s first large soil mover, was also a devoted Christian.

One evening he needed to design a part of the machine that was to begin to be assembled the next day, but at the same time he was supposed to participate in a prayer meeting that same evening. Delaying the assembly would be very expensive, but he still decided that the assembly was more important, so he set out for them. How could he be able to complete the proposal by morning?

He returned home around ten o’clock. Until then, he had no idea, but when he sat down at the drawing board, within five minutes he came up with an enhancer that was feasible – God gave him inspiration! What’s more, the part of the machine he designed that night became a key part of many other machines that Robert G. Letourneau later invented.

     Prayer pays off!

*

Take the time to listen to God’s voice and he will make time to solve your problem.

Start the day right: listen to God!

You should try to say a prayer every day – preferably early in the morning before you get to work. Ask Jesus to help you and guide you. Immediately after waking up, before you start doing anything else, talk to God. Take from him the instructions regarding the coming day and you will be surprised how many problems will be solved before the start of the day, when you hear what God wants to tell you.

However, if you throw yourself into your troubles and difficulties and your work without stopping, talk to God and take instructions from him, you will be like a musician who decided to play his concert first, and then tune the instrument. Start the day with the word of God and prayer and first of all, align with the Lord.

Don’t give in to the idea that praying is hard or that you don’t have time for it. The more you are in a hurry, the more reason you have to pray and the longer you should pray. If you spend only a moment in prayer, you will find that later you will not have to spend so much time to finish your work. If you hem your day with prayer, it is more likely that it will not fray. So it’s simple!

Most Christians nowadays seem to be more interested in God listening to what they say to him than listening to what God wants to tell them. They are trying to push their program and get God to sign it. I once heard someone say, “You are willing not to present your program to God to sign or to have the program presented by God to your signature, but instead to sign a blank paper and let God write on him what he sees fit without knowing what it is it?’

Above all, you must learn to listen to God. The king has no obligation to run around the castle and shout and summon his subjects to tell them what he wants from them. You enter the king in silence and reverence, and with sincerity and awe, you present your desires to him. And then you quietly wait for an answer. God is our king, and therefore you must treat him like a king, and you must fear him, respect him and respect him!

*

When you fall silent before the Lord, you show your belief that God will take care of everything and solve everything. You show that you trust God. ‘You protect the creature leaning on you with peace, for peace, for it hopes in you’ (Isaiah 26:3). If you don’t put your trust in him, you will always be confused. As they say in one rhyme:

‘When we believe him, we have no fear.

When we are afraid, there is dust from our faith!’

When you’re upset, confused, worried, nervous and hot-tempered, you don’t trust him. You don’t have the faith you should have. Trust is a picture of complete peace and peace of mind, heart and spirit. The body continues to be active, but your spirit is calm.

I once got up early in the morning

And what a day awaited me again!

I should have handled so much work,

That I didn’t have time to pray.

Problems crept around,

Every task seemed more difficult to me.

‘Why, God, don’t you help? I ask.’

He said to me, ‘You didn’t ask.’

I wanted to enter God’s chambers;

However, the key in his door did not go any further.

With mildness from God’s mouth it sounded:

‘My son, you didn’t knock.’

joy and beauty I wanted to see,

But the day started completely black.

The answer I already received was:

‘After all, I said, ‘Seek me.”

I got up early today in the morning

And I wanted to hear God’s voice.

I should have handled so much work,

that I had time left to pray.

How to achieve results

There is no miraculous pattern for prayer, but we will offer you twelve steps that can help you to make your prayers expedient:

1. Be grateful and full of thanks

God likes it when we are full of gratitude. introduces you to his presence. ‘Get into his gates with thanksgiving, into his courtyard with a song of praise. Give him praise, bless his name’ (Psalm 100:4).  ‘Thank you in every prayer and request and present your desires to God’ (Philippians 4:6).

Before you start reciting everything you would like from God, take a moment to thank him for what he has already done. If you don’t thank him for the blessings he gave you, he won’t answer your prayers too enthusiastically and give you something else.

Of course, sometimes you won’t want to thank you too much, especially if you get sick, hurt or are cranky, but it’s very important in those moments to stay positive and praise him despite everything. You can always find something to thank God for. Thank him for all the good things he gave you. Thank him for the trials and difficulties you don’t have. If you focus on good things and say them, yours will raise your spirit like nothing else. With God’s help, you will swing through your sorrows and troubles through thanksgiving.

2. Start with a pure heart

Before you can believe that God will answer your prayers, you must be sure that there is nothing between you and Jesus. ‘May the heart accuse us of anything; for God is greater than our hearts and knows all things! If the heart does not accuse us, we have a free approach to God; what would we ask him for, we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do what he likes’ (Jan’s 3:20-22).

If you feel like you don’t deserve God’s blessing – if your heart condemns you – it usually means that you either feel guilty because you did something wrong, or the devil whispers to you that you did something wrong, even if it isn’t. The surest way to not get answers to prayers is not to pray, so the devil tries to convince you that you are too bad and therefore you cannot get closer to God and expect him to help. That is why you cannot base your prayers and your relationship with God on your feelings. You must sort the truth from lies by sincerely asking God to help you see things through his eyes.

If you’ve done something bad, just fix everything by admitting your guilt, asking God for forgiveness, and committing yourself to trying to put things into perspective and reconcile whoever needs to be with. If you do, God will forgive you, hear your other prayers and answer them. (See 1 John 1:9; Matthew 5:23-24; Psalm 103:8-12.)

If feelings of guilt and worthlessness continue to be afflicted with you, then it is clearly the Devil’s work. Do not listen to him and, on the contrary, ‘access boldly to the throne of grace, so that you may come to mercy and find grace and help at the right time’ (Hebrews 4:16). When you face the devil’s lies and ignore them, they will gradually disappear. Step out with a prayer and the Lord will ease your heart.

3. Pray for God’s will

If you try to please God, he will be happy to fulfill your desires of your heart. ‘See the welfare in the Lord, he will give you all that your heart will ask for’ (Psalm 37:4). As a loving father, he will gladly give you what you need and what you want, if it is good for you and it does not harm others.

Think first about what will please God and what will make him the most happy – let that be your prayer. If your and his will coincide, you can ask ‘What do you want, and it will happen to you’ (John 15:7).

4. Give priority to the needs of others over your

Prayer offers high personal benefits to Christians, but at the same time it is a great responsibility. God expects us to pray not only for ourselves but also for others.

Your prayers can have a great influence on the lives of others, even if they were hundreds or thousands of kilometers away. Your prayers will appeal and protect. They can please, heal, correct and bring love, joy and happiness. They can break down inhibitions, overcome any obstacle and draw from God’s bottomless supplies. Your prayers can move the hand of God to work in the lives and hearts of other people.

God likes to answer selfless prayers. And when he sees that you prioritize the needs of others over your own, it may happen that he encompasses you with such a blessing that you never dreamed of it.

5. Be specific

Jesus wants our requests to be specific. He asks us, ‘What do you want me to do for you?’ (Matthew 20:32). You will receive a specific answer to a specific prayer. Unclear, aimless prayers usually point to one of the three possibilities: a) you are not interested, b) you don’t know what to want from him, c) you don’t believe he can do it. Be as specific and bright as possible, as if you were writing a check for a selection from Heavenly Bank. Write in it the exact amount you want, your name – or the name of the person who needs it – date, signature – and it’s yours!

6. Be Honest

You may be wondering why we should pray when the omniscient God already knows what we need. Why is it necessary to spend time praying, when he knows in advance what you will ask him for? It is true that God knows what you need before you ask him, and yet he wants you to pray. (See Matthew 6:8.) You show that you need him. It is a positive declaration of your belief that he will answer your prayers, and he likes it.

If you’re lazy, and yet you think God will answer your prayers no matter how much or how little you put into them, or that he’ll do anything for you without deigning to ask, you’ll probably be disappointed with his answer, because probably none He won’t come. Isaiah, one of the Old Testament prophets, once rightly said that evil things happened in Israel because people prayed: ‘There was no one to call you…’ (Isaiah 64:7).

God wants you to show your interest and pray. And he expects that you will beg for his help in serious matters, especially intensively. If you arouse yourself, God also arouses himself. ‘You will seek me and find me when you ask me with all your heart’ (Jeremiah 29:13).

7. Practice Your Faith

What does it mean to believe? To believe is to take God at his word. It means believing that he will also fulfill what he promised. With faith, it doesn’t matter what reason and logic say. You just know it will be because God promised it, whether your human mind understands it or not.

The greater your belief in God’s ability to answer, the more answers you will get to the prayer. The following two examples clearly explain this principle: When two blind people asked Jesus to restore their sight, he asked them if they believed they could do it. When they answered yes, he told them that it would happen to them ‘according to their faith’ and healed them. (See Matthew 9:27-30.) But elsewhere we read that he did not perform many miracles in one city because of the infidelity of people. (See Matthew 13:58.) So it is quite clear that the measure of your faith determines the measure of God’s answer.

How to strengthen the muscle of faith? Nourish it by God’s word (see Romans 10:17) and practice it daily with prayer. If you forget to feed it, it shrinks; If you don’t practice it, it will weaken.

8. Pray in the name of Jesus

Jesus tells us: ‘And as long as you plead in my name, I will do it’ (John 14:13). He also tells us: ‘I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father but through me’ (John 14:6). This second verse speaks primarily of salvation, but also refers to prayer. When Jesus came to earth to die for our sins, he became a mediator between us and God the Father. The Bible tells us: ‘For there is one God and one mediator between God and people, man Christ Jesus’ (1 Timothy 2:5; see also Hebrews 8:6). Address your demands to Jesus and you will receive wonderful answers to the prayers.

9. Claim your claim to what God’s word promises

God has a warehouse full of unique treasures and infinite wealth – all that you have ever wished and needed – and everything is promised to you in his word. The Bible explains: ‘Thus he gave us precious and excessive promises, so that you may become a part of the divine nature’ (2 Peter 1:4). You just have to claim them.

God’s word is like a covenant that God himself has bound to. The first step is to familiarize yourself with its conditions. You do that by reading the word. Then when you pray, God wants you to insist on these conditions. When you remind him of his promise, you show that you believe in his word and that he will do what you ask him to do.

Of course, this contract also has conditions that you must meet. Many of God’s promises are associated with certain assumptions. ‘What we would ask for him, we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do what he likes’ (1 John 3:22). In order to claim ‘what would we ask for’, we must try to fulfill his commandments and please him. If you keep your part of the contract, you can courageously claim what is rightfully yours.

Our daughter Angela complained for three or four weeks that her eyes hurt and she saw blurry letters while reading. We went with her to the two magicians and they both agreed that her eyes were fine.

However, over the next few weeks, the pain continued and her vision deteriorated greatly. We went to the third doctor, who suggested that we go to the hospital with her for a more detailed examination.

The results from the hospital were not good at all. ‘Angel’s problem could be damage to the eyes or brain,’ the charmer explained to us. She added that if that is the case, then it is too late for any treatment. To find out more, she did an examination of her optic nerve, during which we prayed for the best.

When the test results ran out, the doctor told us that it was very acute. Angela’s eyes barely recognized a very bright light. The doctor began to suspect a brain tumor. This was an urgent case.

That evening we were desperately praying for Angela’s health and I read her from God’s Word about faith and healing. Since she couldn’t see her favorite words from the Bible, we felt that a suitable verse to claim was Psalm 119:18: ‘Open my eyes so that I may see the wonders of your law.’ Then we seized the belief that God had heard our prayers and healed it.

Almost immediately she began to see the words one by one. She soon read the whole page. Her recovery was miraculous and immediate.

10. Refuse Doubt

The devil would like you to doubt God’s word. If he is able to convince us that God’s promises are empty and cannot be relied on, then our prayers have impoverished their power.

The Bible urges us to ‘They begged with confidence and had no doubts. He who doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven and tossed by a gale. Let such a person think that he will receive something from the Lord; he is a divided man, unstable in everything he does’ (Jakub 1:6-8). Refuse to deal with any thoughts that contradict the word – are the devil’s seed of doubt.

11. Think of it as settled

Any prayer that coincides with God’s will and which is best for all is answered by God even before it is said. (See Isaiah 65:24.) God’s word cannot fail, so whenever we fulfill the conditions set out in the word, such as those we mentioned in this brochure, the answers to our prayers are automatically fulfilled. It is possible that he will not answer as we expect or that we will not see his answer immediately, but things have been set in motion to be fulfilled at the moment specified by him according to his will. So after you have presented your request to the Lord, it will be time to so-called take up the faith. You have to trust that the answer is on the way, and believe that you have filled out your part of the contract and that it will not leave you in the lurch, even if it should take some time. Think of it as settled.

12. Thank God for the answer

If you believe that God heard and answered the prayer, you will not wait for an answer to thank him for it; You will thank him with faith in advance. It is just as important to end the prayers with praise and thanksgiving as to begin.

Is everything rolling on you? Throw it on God!

God likes to speed up the arrival of crisis situations. Sometimes they let them pray and believe they will answer us. He wants us to be specific and step out with faith in such a way that we will have specific requirements and expect concrete answers. Specific prayers put both God and us in the center of attention, but it is also a sign of our elevations, And God likes that.

Some people are afraid to ask Jesus for exact answers to the prayer because they are afraid that they will not get them – and this may have a bad impact on their ‘spirituality’, or spoil God’s reputation. ‘What if God doesn’t answer my prayer? What do people think about our faith and God?’ So simply everything general so that they are not ‘caught’ if they did not get an answer.

However, God likes to become the center of attention because he knows that he will never disappoint. It will never disappoint, if we fulfill the given conditions, we will exercise faith in prayer and obey his word. And if he answers, it will be the testimony of his word, his faithfulness and our faith, because we expect a concrete answer. So tell him specifically what to do and he won’t let you down!

Dr. Alexander Whyte of Edinburgh was known for his prayers during the sermon. He always found something to thank God for, even in difficult times. One stormy morning, one member of the assembly thought: Today it is so miserable that the preacher will certainly have nothing to thank God for.

But Whyte began his prayer with these words: ‘We thank you, O God, that not all wounds are like this.’

A baby is a vivid example of faith

How do we get the spiritual nutrition we need from God? It’s simple: we just have to have faith like a little baby.

When a baby cries because he is hungry, he knows that his mother will not refuse him. God put into him the knowledge that when he calls, his mother will answer him. He expects an answer and gets it. And if we, the children of the heavenly Father, ask for milk, it will certainly not give us a snake or anything else! (See Luke 11:10-13)

What pulls milk from a mother’s breast? When sucking, the baby forms a vacuum in his mouth, which pulls the milk out. Prayer creates such a vacuum in our heart: ‘Lord, here is an empty place, fill it.’

When the baby is small, the mother must bring nutrition to him and show him where he is. But as it grows, it automatically learns where to find milk and can stretch itself for it. In the same way, the more we practice receiving nutrition from God, the better we will know where to find it. And if we suck, we will get because God has unlimited possibilities.

The story of an old woman from Scotland is told who lived most of her life in a remote corner of the Scotland mountains and was so poor that the church had to pay rent for it.

One day, when the pastor was bringing her money, he asked, ‘Ms. McKintrick, why isn’t your son helping you? He has a very good position in Australia and is a good boy who loves you deeply. Isn’t that right?’

‘But yes,’ replied the mother, ‘and she never forgets me. She sends me a nice writing every week.’

The pastor was very curious about what kind of son he was, who loved his mother so much and still leaves her without support, so he asked if he could look at a letter.

The woman soon returned with two packages. ‘These are his letters,’ she said, handing the pastor the first package. ‘And these are the beautiful pictures he sends me with every letter. They fit nicely in the envelope and for me it’s proof that he’s thinking of me.’

‘A picture in each letter?’ Pastor couldn’t do it. ‘Can I see the pictures too?’

‘Of course,’ replied the woman. ‘Some have a man’s head, some have a man sitting on a horse, and many are with a picture of a king. Look, there’s the King of England right here. Long live the king!’

‘Long live your son!’ said the astonished pastor. ‘My dear friend, you know you’re a rich woman? This is money! You’ve got wealth here. Just think how you’ve suffered and lived here all the time when you have a fortune right here in the house that you thought were just pretty pictures!’

Promises in God’s Word are not just pretty pictures, just nice words. The word of God says: ‘Thus he gave us precious and excessive promises’ (2 Peter 1:4) and there are hundreds of them. Inexhaustible source! Springs that never dry out.

God says, “Conjug me!”

You are in God’s hands, but in a way God is also in your. ‘Regarding the work of my hands, you will command me.’ (Isaiah 45:11, from English KJV). What? We can command God? Yes. If you live in obedience to God, you are in his will and you long for things that please and glorify him, you can command him to do whatever you want. If you do the right things, love him and have faith in his word, he promised to answer your prayers.

So much that God does depends on your will, on your actions, on what you want and how you pray. He limits his actions with your faith and your desires. ‘You don’t have because you don’t’ (Jakub 4:2). He is waiting for you to start ruling the situation.

Prayer moves the hand and heart of God. He likes to use us and put his strength and unlimited power into the hands of ordinary men and women. So pray!

Do what you can

God expects you to do what you are good enough for. This will prove your faith – you believe that God will do what you cannot do. It is often called the ‘step of faith’. The Gospels are full of examples:

Jesus said to the man with the dead hand, ‘Lift up that hand.’ Obviously he couldn’t move her because she was dead. But when he made an effort and believed that Jesus would heal him, his hand was ‘healthy as the other’ (Matthew 12:13).

Jesus told another man who was blind from birth to wash himself in a certain lake. It probably seemed foolish to the bystanders, but the man believed, obeyed, and his eyes came back. (See John 9:1-7.)

When the lepers begged Jesus to take pity on them and heal them, he told them to go and show themselves to the priests. According to Jewish custom, people recovered from leprosy went to show the priests to confirm their recovery. The lepers were not yet healed at that moment, but they believed, obeyed, went to the priests and were healed. (See Luke 17:12-14.)

Before Jesus could resurrect Lazarus from the dead, the stone had to be rolled away from the entrance to the tomb first. Others could do that. When the bereaved gathered at Lazarus’s tomb and rolled away the stone, they proved their belief that Jesus was capable of doing a miracle and bringing Lazarus back to life – and so it happened. He could have used supernatural power to roll the stone, just as he resurrected Lazarus supernaturally, but he didn’t. He wanted to see if the onlookers would act according to their faith. (See John 11:1-44.)

Those who demonstrate faith by deed will receive answers to prayers and see miracles. Those who ask will receive. Jesus happily healed the sick, raised the dead, pleased the contrite in the heart, and precisely those who had faith and asked were those who received these blessings. God may want to do a miracle in your life, just waiting for you to ask him. He deliberately limited himself by our prayers and faith. When we are full of faith and ask God to work for us, we untie his hands and he can do wonders.

If you don’t know what to do before God answers your prayers, ask him. Either he tells you directly or he shows it to you while reading the word.

Missionary pioneer Hudson Taylor first went to China in 1853. The journey took almost half a year. Once they were sailing very close to the island of cannibals, the ship found itself in the lee. She was slowly drifting to the shore. Savages had already gathered there, expecting a feast.

‘Mr. Taylor, you are a man of faith. Pray to God that something will happen to save us!’ the captain insisted.

‘I’ll say a prayer,’ said Taylor, ‘but you have to lower the sails so the wind can lean into them.’

‘I can’t do that,’ the captain objected. ‘The whole crew would laugh at me if I lowered the sails in complete no wind.’

‘I won’t be praying in that case,’ Taylor said. ‘Prepare the sails first.’

      So it happened.

When Taylor was praying in his cabin, someone knocked on the door. He was the captain again.

‘Are you still praying for the wind?’ the captain asked.

      ‘Yes.’

‘Then stop,’ said the captain, ‘because we have more wind than we need.’

And so they reached their goal in safety.

As if it had already happened

When you asked God for something, start acting. Act according to your faith. Make God take action – show him that you believe in his answer so deeply that you will behave as if he had already answered. The following true story vividly illustrates this principle.

When I was in the church in Oklahoma Wagoner, a girl named Etta used to go there. She wanted to go to university and prepare for the Christian service. She prayed for school fees for two years, but the second year she got into a lot of debt. It looked pretty hopeless.

In desperation she came to me with tears in her eyes. I asked her if studying was definitely God’s will for her and she replied that she was sure of it.

‘Then I wouldn’t have waited any longer,’ I said. ‘You’ve been begging God for money for two years, but so far your actions haven’t shown that you really expect money from him. If you believed that he would answer your prayer and give you the money you needed, what would you do?’

‘I would prepare my clothes, tell the school that I was starting, and take care of all the other matters,’ answered Etta.

‘That’s exactly what I would do if I were you. Rely on his promises and arrange everything as if you already had money in your hand. The real faith acts as if it already happened. If someone promised you money, you would believe him. God promised in his The word that he will fulfill the desires of your heart (see Psalm 37:4), and you do not believe him.”

‘But,’ replied the girl, ‘I trust him! I can do it to you! I’m going home to pack and get ready. School starts early, so I have to hurry.’

From that moment on, Etta did not hesitate. She threw herself into the preparations as if she already owned the money. She was sure that Nebeská banka would open to her at the right moment. (See Malachi 3:10.)

The day before I left, she called me and told me that her clothes and other things were ready, but she had no suitcases. We claimed over the phone: ‘God will give you all that you need, according to his wealth in glory in Christ Jesus’ (Philipsky 4:19). Then I went on after my work and put this incident out of my head.

An acquaintance called me in about an hour. She was tidying up the house and finding various things she didn’t need and wanted to get rid of them. Among them was a large trunk. If I can use it somehow.

‘You are doing the heavenly command,’ I laughed, ‘you are only at the wrong address. God wants to send this suitcase to Etta.’

The next evening, a few of us gathered to see Etta off to the train. She whispered to me, ‘The money hasn’t come yet, but I’m not a bit afraid. I’m sure that God heard my prayer and that I have what I wanted from him.’ (See 1 John 5:14-15.)

There was a mistake somewhere, I thought. I heard from acquaintances that they collected money among themselves to help Etta, but …

At that moment I heard the honking of the train in the distance and saw the lights of the locomotive. Etta tried to read my thoughts from my face. What was I supposed to say?

Suddenly one of the people who organized the fundraiser ran towards us. ‘I was in the office and here I remembered that my colleagues asked me to bring money from them to Etta,’ he said. ‘So I added something else from myself and from my wife.’

‘And here’s my little bit,’ added one of my acquaintances who had just arrived.

‘Get on!’ the dispatcher called. ‘Get on!’

‘Get on with God’s promises,’ I told Etta. ‘It’s worth believing, isn’t it?’

‘Wonderful,’ she replied, ‘it’s just wonderful what faith can do.’

Prayer is the strongest form of energy that anyone can produce. The effect of prayer on the human mind and body is as evident as the effect of endocrine glands. Its results can be measured in the sense of increased zest for life, greater intellectual vitality and a deeper understanding of interpersonal relationships.

Prayer is indispensable for the full development of the personality. Only in prayer can we achieve the complete interplay of mind, body and spirit, which gives the weak human need its unshakable power. As we pray, we connect with the inexhaustible moving energy that rotates the universe.

Ways of Praying

You probably never thought how many ways there are to pray. Prayers can be long or short, quiet, loud or sung. Some prayers don’t even need words. (See Romans 8:26.) It can be fun exchanges or sacred, formal worship. They can be happy, grateful praises or passionate repentance of a broken penitent heart. They can be spontaneous, carefully prepared or written down. Write them yourself or read them from the Bible (a lot of them are in the book of Psalms) or from another Christian book. They may plead for you or others. One can pray in private or with others. You can simply confess to the Lord that you need his blessing for what you are doing, or you can beg for his guidance with all seriousness, because you have to overcome a seemingly impossible obstacle. Pray on your knees or while walking. There are many different ways to pray. For the sake of interest, we offer a few here:

Prayers of Praise

Prayer of praise brings benefit to all participants. God loves praise and when you praise him for his goodness, you begin to see things on the right scale. When you are burdened by problems and worries, leave them to Jesus, and be grateful for what you have. (See 1 Peter 5:7.) Thank him for everything he has done for you, praise him for the desired result, which already belongs to you by faith.

That’s what the biblical King David did. If you think you have problems, think about what he had. Before he became king, his teacher – King Saul – became jealous of him and tried to kill him several times; When he became king, his own son seized the throne, and David had to go to another country in displeasure and shame – and there was no mention of his foreign enemies. Moreover, he was aware of the terrible sinner he was. He was seemingly offered every reason for complaints and depression, but in his psalms – or at least to their conclusion – he took a positive attitude. Despite his troubles, he praised God because he knew that God would eventually solve everything. God promised to solve everything, and he always did. Thanks to David’s faith and praises, God called him a man after his heart. (See 1 Samuel 13:14.) And the result is a book of psalms.

Of course, it is best to get used to prayers of praise before big problems arise. For example, instead of a prayer like ‘Please, God, for your children’ you can pray: ‘Jesus, thank you for giving me such great children. Thanks for taking care of them today. Thank you for being safe and will be at school to do well. I also thank you for an evening together that we can spend together…’

Prayer

Most of the time, one prays in private, one cannot do without it. Personal prayers have their own advantages. (See Matthew 6:6.) But sometimes it pays to pray with others. Jesus promised: ‘If two of you agree on earth in a request for any thing, my heavenly Father will do it to them. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there I am in the midst of them’ (Matthew 18:19-20; see also 5. Moses 32:30). In short, in certain situations, common prayer is more powerful.

If you can pray with other people when you are going through a particularly difficult period, it will be a comfort and a source of spiritual power. As Christians, we are responsible to support each other in prayer. So take advantage of the prayers of others and offer them to pray with them if necessary.

conversational prayer

When you are praying with someone for a certain situation, try praying ‘conversationally’. Everyone who is present adds one or two sentences on another topic or applies a suitable biblical promise. Either you can pray in order, or everyone will join the jump to see how different things will come to mind. It’s like a conference call on the phone or ‘chat’ on the Internet with the gentleman: You hear what others are praying for, and he also hears everything. In this way, the given prayer covers all aspects and everyone has the opportunity to join. When everyone prays briefly and to the point – no more than one or two sentences – prayers can be alive and keep everyone’s attention.

“claiming” prayer

Once you say to Jesus exactly what you want from him, you may feel the need to continue praying for the given thing, but it will no longer be necessary to repeat the same words over and over again. Then it is good to strengthen your prayer by applying the right to the fulfillment of the promises from the Bible.

God made many promises in the Word. When you pray, remind him of them. You are showing your faith in keeping your word. It is a positive confession of faith and knowledge of the word, and God likes that.

If you are praying in a group, take turns reading selected Bible verses instead of individual prayers. You can also alternate short prayers and verses. Or one person can read suitable verses from the Bible before or after prayer. You can also buy or make a so-called promise box for this purpose (i.e. biblical promises on various topics that can be applied during prayer).

Praying in tongues

Speaking in languages (the ability to speak one or more unlearned languages) is one of the nine gifts of the Spirit, which the apostle Paul describes in the 1 Corinthians 12:8-10 and which is mentioned again in the next chapter as ‘Human and Angelic Languages’ (1 Corinthians 13:1). Sometimes these are earthly languages – human languages – but mostly they are the heavenly languages of angels.

If you were filled with the Holy Spirit, and did not accept the gift of tongues, you can ask him for this gift if you are interested. Then start practicing it immediately. Ask him to clear your mind and start praising him out loud. Release your thoughts and language and let the Holy Spirit speak through you. In the beginning, it may seem like a slob or some kind of hatmatilka, but God knows exactly what the spirit is praying for through you.

Speaking in languages is a beautiful way of praying and praising! It is primarily for your benefit and for your own encouragement and inspiration. It will lift your spirit. (See 1 Corinthians 14:4.)

emergency prayer

Short, simple prayers during the day are good and necessary, and God hears them and answers them. But when you encounter a crisis or an important decision, something more is needed. All prayers should be honest, but not all are equally intense and warm because some situations are more serious than others. Sometimes you need to call God urgently with all your heart.

Urgent prayers full of faith can radically change even the most complex situations.

God leaves a lot to us, our interest and prayer

You would be surprised how much God depends on our prayers and on our interest! When we encounter problem situations, he wants us to show interest and pray for them specifically. If we really believe, every prayer is answered and answered. But if we don’t pray, nothing happens. God can do anything, but the responsibility to pray is left to us.

The very intensity with which we pray is reflected in the answer. The recipients of our prayers will not accept any more than we send them. We must mentally recall the people and situations we pray for, and specifically ask God to do what we want.

Prayers are answered with the same intensity with which they arise. Similar to a beam of light directed at the mirror, it is reflected with the same intensity with which it hits the mirror. If we only pray from half the heart, we only get half the answer, but if we pray with all our hearts, we get a complete and powerful answer.

Do you practice the power of prayer? In heaven it will be shown what good we have done – or we could have done – through prayer.

*

A village boy was grazing sheep on Sunday morning. The bells invited people to the church, and they began to gather for mass. The boy also wanted to pray to God, but what was he supposed to say? No one taught him how to pray. So he knelt down and began to recite the alphabet: a, b, c, d, etc. until z.

A man walking from the other side of the thicket heard the boy’s voice, and as he walked around the bush, he saw the boy kneeling and reciting the alphabet with his eyes closed and his hands clenched.

‘What are you doing, young man?’

      ‘I’m praying, sir.’

‘And why are you reciting the alphabet?’

‘When I don’t know any prayer, but I wanted God to take care of me and help me herd the sheep. So I thought that if I recited what I knew, God would fold it and spell everything I wanted.’

‘God bless your heart, son. God will hear and answer. When the heart is in the right place, the mouth cannot say anything bad.’

*

There is great power in praying together

Some people are ashamed to pray with others and sometimes point to the words of Jesus: ‘When you pray, enter your room, close the door behind you and pray to your Father who remains hidden; and your father who sees what is hidden, you will repay’ (Matthew 6:6). This is needed, but it is also necessary to pray together.

Sometimes it is important to share your demands not only with the Lord, but also with others, so that they can pray with you, prove their faith and confess their dependence on the Lord together with you. So never be shy to ask for a prayer when you need it!

The Lord likes to give answers and must give them when he sees that we are united in love, prayer, mind, heart, spirit and have the same purpose. ‘If two of you agree on earth in a request for any thing, my heavenly Father will do it to them. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there I am in the midst of them’ (Matthew 18:19-20). God’s dynamism of the Spirit works wonderfully. God says one will chase away a thousand, while two will drive away ten thousand. (See Deutoronium 32:30.)

*

Sometimes I don’t even pray with words –

I will just lift my heart in my hands

And I hold them before the Lord.

He takes them and caresses them in understanding.

Sometimes I don’t even pray with words –

My spirit bows at his feet

And in the silence of pleasant moments

our souls can come together.

Sometimes I don’t even pray with words –

for I am tired of the whole way.

My heart finds the peace it lacks,

on the savior’s chest.

Every morning you can say: ‘Good morning Jesus! It’s a new day and I know I need you! I’m begging you, fill me with your love and strength. You promised that if I asked you, you would give them to me. Give me enough love to show a piece of heaven to those I meet today – To family, friends and others.’

If you ask in faith, he will. He will answer your prayer and give you enough love and strength for every day.

No matter what you do, you can always pray

You don’t have to kneel while praying. But the truth is that no matter what you do, you should constantly pray with your eyes fixed on Jesus, who guides our faith from the beginning to the goal.

Prayer is like breathing – constant breathing of the Holy Spirit. Stay in constant communication with God, think about him non-stop, and you will be anointed and guided by the Spirit in everything you do. If you pray for what he does and ask God for wisdom, he has promised to give it to you.

The master can save you a lot of work and problems and also time if you pray before starting work. Pray for her and ask Jesus to help you and guide you – even if you had to say just a few words: ‘Jesus, please, help me!’ You can pray in a split second and get an answer in an instant, but if you don’t pray and rely on your own reason and cleverness, you are on the best way to some unfortunate mistake.

Therefore ‘Don’t stop in prayer’ (1 Thessalonians 5:17). Ask God about everything: every problem, every decision and make sure you do what he wants you to do. ‘Know him on all your ways, he himself will straighten your paths’ (Proverbs 3:6).

When God doesn’t seem to answer

Why do answers to some prayers last longer and why do some ‘miss’ the answer? There are a lot of reasons for. God will always answer our prayers, but not always immediately and not always as we would expect. Sometimes he says ‘yes’, sometimes ‘no’ and sometimes ‘wait’.

If you feel like you’re not getting the answer to your prayers, ask yourself the following questions:

I’m sure I’m praying for what God wants too? Do I pray for his will?

God does not respond to some prayers as we would like or as we would expect, because he knows that we do not pray for what is good for us or other people. The Bible warns us that if our heart is not in the right place and our motives are selfish, God does not have to give us what we ask for. (See James 4:3.)

God sometimes does not answer our prayers because he has prepared something better for us. God knows best and gives the best to those who leave their decisions to him.

Did I do what I could?

Faith and obedience are needed first, then God will respond to prayer. If you are trying your best to fulfill your obligations and achieve the desired result, if you are trying to make him happy – to love him and others – you can be sure that he will answer your prayer. (See John 15:7; 1 John 3:21-22.)

Surely he may sometimes ask you to do something he didn’t expect and didn’t want to hear. When this happens, it is important to realize that God is all-seeing and all-knowing, loves you and cares for you, and therefore it is wise to do what he says. At first you may find it difficult or expensive to act according to his orders, but after a long time you will see that he was right.

Will God test my faith?

God wants to make sure sometimes you really expect an answer. If you believe that he is really capable of doing what he promised, you will persevere. (See Luke 11:5-10; 18:1-8; Romans 4:21; 12:12; 1 Peter 1:6-7.)

If you continue with faith, even though it seems that God does not respond to prayer, you will like him. He likes faith, which he refuses to give up and goes on despite the surrounding prospects. He likes those who believe it will be because he said it.

A suitable example is offered to us in the Old Testament, where we read that Abraham was over a hundred years old and still without an heir. God promised that his wife Sarah would give birth to a son, but she was ninety and could not have children for a long time. However, Abraham did not stop believing in God’s promises despite everything, and as expected, God fulfilled his word. Sara miraculously conceived and gave birth to a son Isaac, who through his two sons became the forefather of the Jewish people and the Edomites (part of the Arab people).

The apostle Paul commented on Abraham’s faith: ‘He did not weaken in his faith, even though he thought of his already barren body – after all, he was about a hundred years old – and the fact that Sarah could no longer have a child; he did not fall into doubt about God’s promise, but, strengthened by faith, he gave honor to God in firm certainty that God was He is powerful to do what he promised. Therefore it was counted as justice’ (Romans 4:19-22).

If you have true faith, you will say: ‘I have claimed God’s promise and I will go forward, even if I do not see the way ahead at the moment.’ Like a ship’s captain sailing in zero visibility at night storms, you can’t see what’s in front of you either, but you continue. You know that God has heard your prayer and that he will answer at the right moment. Such faith is pleasing to God and achieves results.

Should I learn patience or something like that?

Part of human nature is to turn to God especially when we need something from him. He likes to meet our needs and at the same time tries to take advantage of the fact that we give him full attention, and he wants to teach us things that will bring us closer to him and make us better people. Patience is one of the most common lessons, but perhaps it is trying to teach you deeper love, humility and prayer or other qualities needed in life. If this is your case, he will answer you when you learn what he wants you to do.

Is it the best time to do this?

‘Everything has a designated moment and all events under heaven have their time’ (Ecclesiastes 3:1). God knows the best time, you can’t rush him. Prayer is sometimes like sowing a seed: it takes some time for the seed to germinate, break through the clay, grow and bear fruit – and some take longer than others. Some flowers sprout almost overnight, but it takes years for trees to start fruiting.

Before God answers the prayer, everything must be in the right place. Complex situations take longer. As a difficult mathematical example: the more complicated the example and the more unknown, the more complex the solution and the more time it usually takes to solve it.

Is his answer influenced by the decisions of others?

result  Prayer depends on three main factors. These include: Your will (what you want), God’s will (what God wants) and the decisions and actions of the interested people. Although your will and God may coincide, you will not always be able to see the desired result, because God has guaranteed freedom of choice to all people. The decisions and actions of others also contribute to the final result. Neither you, nor the others, nor God decide on him, because he has specifically committed to it. If your prayers are not answered, because others make bad decisions in your opinion, do not lose hope. Pray that God works in their hearts and helps them in their decisions.

However, no matter what others do or don’t do and how they decide, the biblical promises of Jesus do not lose their validity. A bad decision by someone else cannot cancel the validity of promises in God’s word. So if you find yourself in a situation where you think that your prayer cannot be answered because of something bad, God hears your prayer and somehow answers it, even if you yourself never saw the answer in this life.

              The following story proves it:

Two women, hundreds of kilometers apart, were going through a similar torment. Katča’s husband Jakub was sentenced to ten years in prison for robbery and rape. Over the past few years, things have gone downhill for him and he has become a notorious alcoholic. He pushed God and religion out of his life, and when he heard the judgment, he cursed God and threw away even the little faith he had left.

Meanwhile, Emílie watched as her brother Josef, a successful lawyer, became bitter towards God because he took his lovely young wife and child in a car accident and took them to his heavenly home. He accumulated anger and threw away his former friends and life – everything that reminded him of his past and Christian upbringing. He moved out of the house and opened an office in another location. He also limited relations with relatives. Outside of work, he closed himself off in his loneliness.

Both Katka and Emilia believed in God and in the power of prayer, and thus found their strength in the Bible and its promises. Katka sincerely prayed for her husband and Emilia for her brother. For years, both did not stop in prayer without seeing the fruit of their efforts.

Finally, Jakub turned to God in prison. He gave up his old way of life and invited Jesus back. He spent his last years in prison teaching his fellow prisoners about Jesus’ love. On the day of his release, in his honor, the guards and guards organized a gathering of the entire prison. It could be called a church service, because James became a local prison ‘pastor’. When Katka and her children came to the prison to pick up, the smile and tears expressed gratitude to God for answering their prayers and returning their beloved man back to them.

Emilia also clung to the promise that God was able to change Joseph’s heart and return his family back to him. But no such change happened to Josef. She received no response to her letters. Phone calls were always interrupted. Emilia believed that God would answer even though she did not see his powerful hand in action.

And so it happened. Her prayers were gradually answered. Josef did not live alone, although he tried to do so. God’s presence was always with him, as Emilia prayed for it. God gave her brother many opportunities to get back on the right path, but he refused each one. His decisions were not correct. Finally, Emilia put her brother in God’s hands. When his life came to an end and he met his Creator in the other world, Emilia finally saw the answer to her prayers. She saw everything God did at her request. The final decision was up to Josef. Nevertheless, thanks to her prayers, God worked in Joseph’s heart. Although Joseph did not make the right decision during earthly life, he found the courage to do so in the following life.

One answer may seem much better than the other; Yet both are answers to prayer. The reward for the prayers of these women who sent them to Jesus finally blossomed. One lasted longer than the other, but in the end they were both beautiful and perfect.

God will accept the desire of your heart from your lips and answer with wisdom in the best way according to his best judgment and according to the decisions of others. When you use the power of prayer, you must also submit to the fact that the judgment of God and the way he answers you is always the best, regardless of how different your ideas are.

The answer didn’t come?

True faith will not be refused,

Her feet stand firmly on the rock;

He won’t move even in wild storms

And no thunder can stand up to her.

She knows the almighty has heard her prayer

And somehow, sometimes he answers her from above.

Didn’t the answer come? No, don’t give up easily!

Maybe you haven’t done what you had yet;

Work began with your first prayer

And if you keep the fire that you have ignited,

God will finish what he has started to struggle with,

And somehow, you’ll see his glory sometime.

Replied prayer

God will answer prayer;

Sometimes when hearts tremble,

It gives believers what they want.

but often teach our faith

trust God’s silence,

– Big things happen in it.

He will only send us the best,

Although the wind squeals coldly.

Stars can go out

and mountain peaks to collapse,

But God’s promises will shine bright

To those who want it.

I begged God for strength to be successful,

I was weakened to learn to listen humbly …

I begged for health to do bigger things,

I got sick so I could do better things …

I begged for wealth to be happy,

I was left with poverty to be wise …

I begged for the power to receive the praise of the people,

I was given a weakness to feel the need of God …

I begged for all things so that I could enjoy life,

I was given life so that I could enjoy all things …

I didn’t get anything I asked for, but everything I was hoping for.

Despite itself, my unspoken prayers were answered.

And I am most blessed among all people.

Let’s learn from omniscience

God promised:‘Call to me and I will answer you. I want to tell you the great and unavailable things you don’t know’ (Jeremiah 33:3). However, his promise applies only if we fulfill one unspoken but obvious condition: to learn to listen to him and recognize his answers when he gives them to us. Here are a few ways they speak to us:

1. Written Word

Reading the Bible, God’s recorded word, and thinking about it is one way we can listen to God. You can find the answers to most of the questions that arise in life on her website. You just need to look them up. (If you are a new Christian or just starting to read the Bible, read the four Gospels first; start from the Gospel of John.)

You might be thinking, ‘How can the Bible talk about the problems I encounter today? After all, the Bible is a book thousands of years old!’ If you study God’s word with an open mind and faith, you will find that it will speak to you. The Bible contains a lot of answers and advice about the problems that are bothering you at the moment. Although you will not find in it details regarding our modern life, you will surely find in it the courage, hope, strength, lessons and truth that are needed to overcome obstacles in life. The Bible tells us that everything that is written in it should serve our benefit. ‘All that is written there was written for our instruction, so that we may draw hope from the patience and from the encouragement that the Scriptures give us’ (Romans 15:4; see also 1 Corinthians 10:11).

The Bible is an inexhaustible source of wisdom and knowledge. King David wrote: ‘I am more prudent than all my teachers, for I think about your testimonies. I have acquired more than the old men, for I keep your provisions’ (Psalm 119:99-100). God also promises: ‘I’ll give you foresight, I’ll show you the way you’ll go’ (Psalm 32:8). If you pray, it will lead you to the passages that contain his advice for you –  and sometimes it can be things that you don’t even realize you need.

2. Voice of Word

As you gradually read the word and get to know it, sometimes you may think about something and pray for it, and suddenly you remember the Bible verse, which fits exactly to the given situation and contains the answer you are looking for. This fact is known as the Voice of the Word.

Towards the end of his service on earth, Jesus told his disciples that when he left, God would send them the Holy Spirit to teach and guide them. (See John 14:26; 16:7,13-14.) If you were filled with the Holy Spirit, this promise also applies to you. Maybe he’s talked to you like this before and you just didn’t realize it. (Everyone who accepts Jesus as his Savior will also accept a certain measure of the Holy Spirit. But complete fulfillment by the Holy Spirit, which the Bible calls the ‘baptism’ of the Holy Spirit, is usually a separate experience that happens either at the same time or later. If you were not filled with the Spirit saints, you can do so. ‘If you… you know how to give good gifts to your children, what more does your Father from heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who beg him!’ (Luke 11:13).

The procedure is the same as during salvation – you just pray. Like this: Dear Jesus, please fill me with your Holy Spirit, your love and courage! Amen.

3. Prophecy and other types of direct revelations

Most people consider prophecies to be the ability to predict the future, or For a mysterious force that was given only to a handful of people throughout history. But prophecy is something more than predicting the future, it is not so mysterious and it is available to all Christians filled with spirit – including you. (see 1 Corinthians 12).  It is the ability to receive messages directly from God, spoken by your mouth or written by your hand. It is a gift of the Holy Spirit that you can ask for in prayer.

If you want to have the gift of prophecy, and you haven’t accepted it yet, or you’re not sure if you have it, then stop by and ask for it. Just ask. ‘Believe that everything you ask for in prayer is given to you, and you will have it’ (Mark 11:24).

Once you have already received the gift of prophecy, Jesus can speak to you with words of love, security, instruction or revelation, as you need. will give you advice tailored.

Whether you have the gift of prophecy or not, God can instill in you thoughts or feelings that will answer your question and clarify the situation you are in. He may also speak to you through dreams or give you vision. These are all forms of direct revelations.

God can convey his thoughts to you at any time or give you the right impressions, but it is easiest for him when you read his word and think about it, or When you pray. If you quiet down and set aside your thoughts and worries and focus on Jesus, you will open the door to accept his thoughts.

In one passage the Bible talks about it as a hearing ‘quiet, soft voice’ of God. (See 1 Kings 19:11-12.) In another verse God promises: ‘And with your own ears you will hear the word behind you: ‘That’s the way, follow it,’ whether you want to right or left’ (Isaiah 30:21).

Accepting a message from Jesus may not take long. You don’t have to pray for an hour or two before they speak to you. Even if you’re in the middle of work, you can stop for a moment and redirect your thoughts to the sky and you might hear him whispering to you.

Vision is images, either motionless or moving that you see in your mind when you are awake (usually when your eyes are closed, but this is not the rule). Some people had a vision that was so real and real that they thought they saw them in reality.

Dreams from God are mostly alive and a person usually wakes up from them with a strong feeling that it was an important and important dream, unlike most other dreams that do not make sense to us and are not very important. Since the meaning of dreams is not as clear as the reports received from God in other ways, it is best to ask him to confirm with a prophecy or a Bible verse if it was an important dream.

Turn your thoughts into prayers

The more you get used to praying, the more you will achieve it through prayer and the happier you will be, because you will reveal the secrets of how to stay in constant communication with your beloved Savior and friend. The following article underlines this policy:

Ideas are a very interesting subject to study and the Bible mentions them in many places. For example, it says that ‘number[dobrých]God’s thoughts about us cannot be quantified and that we should hate fiction and love God’s law‘. (See Psalm 40:6; 119:113, Kralická.)

One of the best ways to use your thoughts positively is to turn them into prayer. Remember all the things you do during the day and think about. Think about your thoughts. Consider them, discuss them, evaluate them and ask yourself what purpose they serve. What are they for? Do you transform your thoughts into a force that will bring benefit in the lives of others?

If you want to achieve more through prayer, think about your thoughts. Thoughts are real things. They can help or may be an obstacle. Do your thoughts help strengthen the soul in trouble? Or do they quietly turn their backs on a person calling for help? Where are your thoughts going? Are they responding to someone’s call? Do you penetrate the heavenly power of thoughts through prayer? Do you aim your thoughts to do good and leave good results?

God wants us to learn to transform thoughts into powerful prayers. Thoughts transformed into prayers will materialize in the form of God’s blessing, God’s help, protection, strength and healing for those close to us.

Thoughts transformed into prayers will achieve great results, make the impossible and change the course of history. On the contrary, the thoughts that we let run empty slip into the gray nothingness, into the cracks and cracks of self-satisfaction, where they spread out and go to waste.

Every time we start thinking about something, we can pray for it, anywhere. When we do physical work or fulfill our daily duties, we can change our thoughts to prayers. We can capture our thoughts, direct them to God and see the subsequent miracles with our own eyes.

For example, when you cook at home and start thinking about children at school, pray that they have a good time. Or when you start thinking about the upcoming complex action that awaits you at work, change your thoughts to pray for the master’s strength for the given task. For example, on the way home you drive past the accident: Pray for the injured and for your own safety.

No matter what we do, thoughts run through our heads all day. The difference is where we point them and what we do with them. The main thing is how we decide to deal with our thoughts. When we learn to turn them into prayers and divide them through the sieve of God’s word, we direct them to where they can really achieve something, and thus we fulfill the mission of prayer.

Alone, with our thoughts, we can turn each into a prayer and change the world! We can seize the thoughts that come to mind as a result of the supply of visual and other information from our surroundings, and turn them into prayer.

Turning every thought into prayer is a great privilege and a precious gift. It is the privilege of connecting with the ‘heavenly power of thoughts’. Use it and it will serve you well. It will make your life easier and perform many miracles. Thoughts can be a burden or a blessing. Turn them into good by turning them into prayer. Join the heavenly power of thoughts!

When my thoughts sometimes wander off,

To a person whose years I have not seen again,

I’m sure by touching with my lure’s palm

They tell me to watch over him in prayer.

We are in a hurry, so we often scare away

Random memories of old friends.

But what if God wants to dust them

By praying for their supposed battles.

Maybe just then, at that particular moment,

My friend with a great trial must fight,

He stands in the dark, lacks strength,

And so in prayer I will fight for him.

You don’t deny me your prayer either,

When uninvited I appear in your mind.

Don’t open for a moment to other thoughts:

I need your prayer – I know it.

If I can prove good today,

If I can show others the way,

If I can show evil and envy,

Show me sir how.

If I can correct a human wrong,

If I can recover someone’s soul,

If I can stop crying and wailing,

Show me sir how.

If I can help people out of trouble,

If I may bear the burden, let it not weigh,

If I can give joy to those behind bars,

Show me sir how.

Markéta, the manager of a company, always had something to her heart when she passed by a certain beggar. He had been staying not far from her office for about a month. She learned that her name was Vladimír and that he had lost his home. She always gave him a few change when she saw him, but apparently he needed more than that. However, there were a lot of such poor people!

Once before going to bed, Markéta prayed: ‘Sir, I know I can’t solve the world’s problems, but show me what I can do for Vladimir and other people in such crisis situations to improve their lives.’

Tomorrow, she got her hands on the newspaper, where it was written about a shelter for a homeless man, which was soon to open. They were looking for sponsors and volunteers.

Markéta called them enthusiastically. She would like to help financially, she told the organizers on the phone, and she would also like to offer a few working hours so that the center can start.

After all that, Markéta didn’t have that much in her account and she didn’t have much time for herself on the weekends, but she reassured herself that it was a good investment.

Retribution came a few weeks later, when Vladimír proudly announced that he had found a job and that he was moving into an apartment at the opposite end of town. ‘Markéta, you made my life easier at a time when it seemed unbearable and useless. I can’t thank you for everything you’ve done for me,’ he told her.

She was then sure that God had answered her prayer.

God’s Promise of Prayer

Here are some promises from God’s word that you can use during prayer and time with God:

·     Before they call, I will answer; They will still talk and I will hear them. (Isaiah 65:24)

·     Ask what you want and it will happen to you. (John 15:7)

·     Ask, and it will be given to you; Search, and you will find; Beat it and it will be open to you. (Matthew 7:7)

·     And if you believe, you will receive everything you ask for in prayer. (Matthew 21:22)

·     Ask and get your joy full. (John 16:24)

·     Present your requests to God. (Philippians 4:6)

·     If you ask me for something in my name, I will do it. (John 14:14)

·     Look for well-being in the Lord, he will give you everything he asks your heart. (Psalm 37:4)

·     We have a firm confidence in him that he hears us whenever we ask for something in accordance with his will. And if we know that he hears us whenever we ask for something, then we also know that we got what we have from him. (Janu 5:14-15)

Listening to God

·     Call to me and I will answer you. I want to tell you big and unavailable things that you don’t know. (Jeremiah 33:3)

·     He graciously has mercy on you when you call out imploringly; He will hear and answer you. (Isaiah 30:19)

·     And with your own ears you will hear the word behind you: ‘That’s the way, follow it,’ whether you want to right or left. (Isaiah 30:21)

·     But as soon as he comes, the spirit of truth, he will introduce you to all truth, for he will not speak of himself, but will speak for what he hears. And he will tell you what to come. (John 16:13)

·     And it will happen in the last days, says God, I will send my spirit to all people, your sons and your daughters will speak in a prophetic ecstasy, your bachelors will have visions, and your old men will have dreams. (Acts 2:17)

·     You answered me the day I called you. (Psalm 138:3)
