Unbelievable abilities

What changed Petra?

One of the most famous personalities of the Bible is the apostle Peter. Peter, one of the first disciples of Jesus, had a very colorful character: he was a rude and uncouth fisherman overflowing with energy and ready to act.

For the duration of Jesus’ personal guidance and learning, Peter often
He made his way like the proverbial elephant in porcelain. by far the most eloquent from
All 12 disciples did not hesitate to say what they thought or do what they considered to be
correct without considering the possible consequences. Men of the Force are men of error, and Peter’s
strong character, self-confidence and stubborn views on how things should be,
They often resulted in serious mistakes and blunders.

However, shortly after Jesus’ resurrection, Peter passed the dramatic
Transformation. And it is about this transformation that our story tells. We will start with the last
the clock of Jesus’ service on earth and we will be transported to the last supper that Jesus
He ate with his disciples on the eve of his crucifixion.

“Before the rooster crows…”

Jesus knew that he would soon suffer torment and die for the sins of the world. He turned to his disciples and said: ‘You will all fall away from me this night, for it is written: I will beat the shepherd and the sheep of the flock will scatter.’ (See Zechariah 13:7.)

When Peter heard this, he exclaimed with enthusiasm: ‘If all
They fell away from you, I never!”

Jesus knew what was going to happen, so he answered him, “Before
The rooster crows, you deny me three times.’

Petra was touched by such a prediction and with an even bigger
He insisted with his conviction: ‘Even if I were to die with you, I wouldn’t deny you!’ Similarly
all the disciples spoke and joined Peter with the assurance that they too
They will stand by Jesus, no matter what happens.

To Peter’s dismay, however, Jesus’ words were soon fulfilled. Here
The very night when Jesus was in the Garden of Gethsemane and prayed with his disciples,
A detachment of the temple guard came from the high priests and elders along with the crowd
armed swords and sticks. They seized Jesus who did not deny them because
He knew his time had come and left with them peacefully. Alone. Jesus’ disciples in
panicked terrors flew into the night to save at least bare lives.

When Jesus was taken to the high priest before a hastily summoned

A woman noticed the nervous Peter’s courtyard and asked: ‘Aren’t you the one from his
disciples?’

He vehemently denied this: ‘I am not!’

shortly,
When Peter stood by the fire and warmed himself, the man who was present at the arrest of Jesus on
he pointed and exclaimed loudly, ‘Didn’t I see you with him in the Garden of Gethsemane?’

“I swear,
I don’t know that person!’ Peter replied.

But soon those who stood there approached and said to Peter:
‘Surely you are one of them too! After all, even your dialect betrays you. You are from Galilee
Like that Jesus. You are certainly one of his disciples.’

Fearing for his life, Petr answered even more forcefully:
‘I don’t know what you’re talking about. I don’t know that Jesus.’

He didn’t even finish when the rooster suddenly crowed. In that moment
The guards took Jesus across the courtyard to the other building. The Lord turned and looked
On Peter; And Peter remembered Jesus’ words: ‘Before the rooster crows,
You will deny me three times.’

Petr, flooded with remorse over his deed, ran out
From the courtyard into the night. Finally he fell to the ground and wept bitterly.

A promise of power

The next day Jesus was crucified.

The disciples hid because they feared for their lives. Jesus though

Jesus showed himself to the disciples for forty days, encouraged and
He prepared them for their mission. the last day before the Ascension Jim
He ordered them to return to Jerusalem and wait for the ‘father’s promise.’ (see
Luke 24:49.) The greatest transformation of their lives was at hand.

The apostles returned to Jerusalem and, along with more than 120 other followers, their wives and children, waited as Jesus ordered them. Ten days later, their prayers were answered by a sudden and stunning manifestation of God’s power. Saint Luke later wrote: “The roar of the sky was broken, as if a violent wind began, and filled the whole house where they were. And the tongues of fire appeared to them, they split apart, and one rested on each of them; All were filled with the Holy Spirit And they began to speak in ecstasy in other languages, as the Spirit gave them to speak’ (Acts 2:2-4).

That was it! That was what they were waiting for – the supernatural power from God, which now that Jesus had left, was to empower them to continue his work. Fear, worry and inability to act according to one’s convictions were suddenly gone. Peter, transformed by the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit, led the disciples to the greatest evangelistic campaign of all time.

At the same time, they decided to become Christ’s disciples.

Here we are looking at a man who, after the arrest of Jesus
He behaved so cowardly that he denied it three times. now in the same city where he was
less than two months ago Jesus was arrested, condemned and crucified, he stood before
He preached God’s message to thousands of people and courageously.

Peter changed as Jesus prayed for him. (See Luke 22:32.)

What was the cause of this sudden transformation? Supernatural power and power of the Holy Spirit.

God’s Spirit can help each of us to prove things that we cannot manage.

everyone who prays and invites Jesus to
of his heart, will accept God’s gift of eternal life while being filled to an extent
And the Holy Spirit. But complete fulfillment, what the Bible calls ‘baptism’ in spirit
saints, it is usually another experience that comes only after acceptance
Jesus.

A suitable illustration is a glass of water. Although
The glass is not full and there is only a little water in it, it is still a glass of water. so is
That with many Christians. They have only a limited amount of God’s Spirit.

Baptism of the Holy Spirit is like filling the glass to the brim so that it overflows. Jesus said: ‘Whoever believes in me, streams of living water will flow from his interior.’ (John 7:38). And in the following verse, Jan adds: ‘That’s what he said about the spirit[svatém], which was to be accepted by those who believed in Jesus’. (John 7:39).

Open the floodgates

The primary task of the Holy Spirit is to help
share God’s message and love with other people. Filling with the Holy Spirit as well
It will perfect your personal relationship with Jesus. will help you establish a closer connection, better
Maintain connections through prayer and understand more deeply the word of God.

And the best part of it all is that you can be too
Filled with God’s Spirit – right now!

All you have to do for it is ask for it. It’s the same with salvation: you can’t earn or earn it. It’s a gift. And then regardless of whether you feel any change or not, you can be sure that you received it simply because Jesus promised. (see Luke 11:13 –  ‘So if you, …can you give your children good gifts, what more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who will ask him to do so?

Receive the Holy Spirit through this simple
Prayer:

“Dear Jesus, please fill me to overflow with your Holy Spirit so that I can love you more, follow you better, understand the Bible and not be afraid to mention you to others. Amen.”
