7. Problems and Troubles

A Positive Challenge

When it happens to you that you fall on your mind because of your weaknesses, mistakes or the bad thing that happened to you, you can be on your way to discovery, how close God is to you in such situations and how tenderly he cares for you. These are the most difficult moments when we find out that Jesus always stands by us. He cares about us and wants the best for us.

When we understand that it is not him, when he brings evil and that, on the contrary, he can turn all evil to our benefit, we can learn to trust him more and manage any hardships and disappointments better. They can even become a step or a step that will lead us to a higher level. How poor donkey did it in the following story.

A story is told about a farmer whose donkey fell into a well. The well was very deep and the donkey was already very old, and the farmer didn’t know how to get it out of here. So instead of bothering the donkey, with a heavy heart, the farmer decided to bury him in that well. Together with the neighbors, they started throwing dirt into the well. The donkey initially let out a heartbreaking scream, but then suddenly calmed down. To their surprise, he shook off the dirt that fell on his back each time, stomped, and with each new shovel he approached a step higher out of the well. The donkey used the evil – the clay – to get all the way to the top. Finally, he climbed out of the well victoriously.

The lesson from this story is that we should not be overcome by life’s problems, but even though it is painful, it is ‘shaking them out and going up’.

God’s Love Plan

God makes a promise in His Word: ‘Everything helps to good to those who love God’ (Romans 8:28). He will never allow something to happen to you, his child, that will not be good for you one day. Although many things that happen are not good, sooner or later you will find out (if you don’t already know) that God will do anything for you, so that you can not only manage them, but to move you to something higher and deeper.

God’s answers to our prayers are infinitely perfect, although they do not always answer as we imagine, because they see further than us and know that in some situations, the fulfillment of our wishes for us or the person interested would not be the best in the long term.

It should also be kept in mind that he is not the one who brings evil. Jesus in the Bible says: The thief (the devil) comes just to steal, kill and destroy; I came to have a life – a life in fullness. (John 10:10)

darkest moments

Even if something bad happens to us, we can always be sure that God, like the most beloved father, will take care of us. He is also an expert to turn even the greatest evil to something good.

Every time you go through a time of trials, regardless of battles, regardless of the loss, regardless of the confusion you feel, hold on to God and never forget how immensely he loves you. You are his baby. His love does not change according to the situation, it is reliable and infinite. It doesn’t matter what happens, how gloomy the prospects are, how hard the battle is, how long and dark is the tunnel you’re going through, or how hard your suffering is – he loves you! He is very generous in his love. He won’t squirt you a little here and a little over there depending on how you deserve it. She always pours out her love in abundance and for free, regardless of whether you deserve it or not!

Jesus promised: ‘I’m with you all the days until the end.’ (Matthew 28:20). And further: ‘I will never leave you and I will never renounce you.’ (Jews 13:5). Even in times of greatest darkness and trials, God always remains ‘a friend who clings more than a brother’ (Proverbs 18:24, NKJV). King David said in Psalms: ‘Even if I go through the ravine of the dark death, I will not be afraid of anything evil, for you are with me.’ (Psalm 23:4).

He is with you in the darkness. She is in trouble with you. She’s with you at the exam. He is confused with you. He is with you in the depths. He’s there because he cares about you. He is there to help you pass.

It hurts Jesus when he sees how you are suffering and how unhappy you are, but at the same time he also sees the future that when you go through these things, it will build your character. You will be more prepared for what awaits you in life and what is part of God’s plan. Like him, he had to go through the agony of dying on the cross for the sins of the world, so that we could personally experience the depth of his love.

The road to glory

When you reach the end of your life’s journey and look back at everything you’ve been through, you’ll see how much God loved you and how faithfully he cared for you all the time, especially when the journey was difficult.

It’s like in the ‘tracks in the sand’ story. One man had a dream. It seemed to him that his life was like a step in the sand on the beach. There were always two – one of him and one of Jesus, they were walking side by side next to each other. Then, suddenly in the time of his greatest suffering, he saw only one step there. Out of pain in his heart, he turned to Jesus: ‘Where were you at the time when I needed you the most?!’ At that, Jesus looked deeply into his eyes with love and tenderness and said to him, full of compassion: ‘I was carrying you in my arms!’

One day there will come a time when you realize and see that the stones on your path were not like traps, but like stairs to victory. Victory in that when you open up to him, you will experience very personally that he has not left you, on the contrary, he is closer to you than ever before, he is still with you. God is close to troubled hearts, discouraged in spirit will save! byPsalm 34:19) You may have stopped holding him, you let him go, but he will never stop holding you.

One day you will find out that even in the most difficult moments he was with you and comforted you. This can charge you with the assurance that he will be with you next time. It also proves that he can be relied on and that you can trust him. It will give you the belief that no matter what comes, it is with you. When you realize you need it, it will humb you. You will also get a great understanding for others who are going through something similar to what you have been through.

Whatever obstacles stand in your way – remember that Jesus is always with you. He will take care of you and eventually turn even the worst situations into something good. So he promised it!

If you remember a simple rule that whatever difficult that happens to you will eventually bring good, your life will be richer, you will have more peace in your heart and it will be much easier to recognize that God is with you every day. It makes a big difference if, in the flood of problems, battles and hardships, you are just waiting for the worst or whether you accept them as a challenge to discover in them all the good that God plans to bring into your life.
