Have you ever wondered if God speaks to people even in our modern times? And if so, if you could communicate with him too? Believe it or not, but it is possible. This book will tell you how to do it.
In order to understand how we humans can communicate with the powerful God and creator of the universe, we must first understand how much God loves us. God loves us so much that many years ago he sent His Son Jesus to earth to die for our sins and to give to those who believe in him the gift of eternal life.
Out of great love, God also gave us the Bible, in which he introduces us to how to live a life of love and how to love God and our neighbors. At the same time, God’s words in the Bible give us faith, encouragement, strength of spirit, lessons and comfort, simply everything we need in our lives full of stress and hustle and bustle.
But it doesn’t end there. God loves us so much that he not only wants to talk to us through the words written long ago in the Bible, but also wants to communicate with us in person every day. He knows that we have questions and problems, and he wants to give us the necessary answers and words of faith and reassurances that will help us overcome difficult times. Therefore, he created a connection between himself and each of us, so that we could communicate with him through prayer and hear his words, intended only for us, through prayer.
Maybe you are wondering if God can speak to you, even if you don’t know much about him. Isn’t it true that he talks only with the most perfect people or only with those who had the opportunity to study the Bible for years? Not at all! The Bible says: “… from the mouths of infants and infants are you[Bože]… He proved his strength…” (Psalm 8:3). It is true that no one is worthy of connection with God, even if he is the best. However, in his love, God will speak to anyone who has a childish simple faith.
He wants to talk to you to give you the opportunity to experience his infinite wisdom and boundless love. He wants to help you grow step by step to get to know and understand him better. “Call to me,” He says, ‘And I will answer you; I will tell you great secrets that you do not know about.’ (Jeremiah 33:3).
As we have already mentioned, God talks to believers in different ways. When he speaks to you through the Bible, he causes you to suddenly be struck by a certain passage and its application in your situation while reading, and answer the questions that are on your mind. God uses this method often. Sometimes they also speak through God-fearing counselors, in visions and dreams, or they give you an impression or feeling in your heart.
In this study, however, we want to deal with a very personal and specific means that God uses to communicate with his children, and that is prophecy.
What is prophecy? Unlike the written word or feeling in the heart, the prophecy is when we hear specific words in our mind, we believe that God is speaking to us, and we record those words. You can hear God’s voice even when you don’t repeat or write it down out loud. There is no rule that says that an unrecorded prophecy is not a prophecy. However, you will later read that there are certain auxiliary guidelines for accepted prophecies, such as a comparison with the Bible or verification by other believers. Therefore, for the sake of simplification, if we talk about prophecy in this text, we will refer to the spoken or otherwise recorded prophecies.
When people hear the word ‘prophet’ and ‘prophecy’, they immediately imagine a person who predicts the future. It is true that many prophets of God from biblical times predicted the coming events, but these are not the only prophets existing, and not all prophecies must have anything to do with the future. One definition of the word ‘Prophecy’ reads: ‘divinely inspired speech’. In other words it means Receiving a message from God, whether it concerns the past, the present or the future.
There are many ways to benefit from the gift of prophecies. Through prophecies, God can show you concrete solutions to the problems you encounter in life. It can give you words of comfort when you are sick or sad. It can show you how to share your faith with others and how to help people in need.
You too can receive news from the sky. Try God! Make sure that he will not open the vents of heaven and pour out a blessing on you – the treasures of his words tailored to you – that you will not even take them all. (See Malachi 3:10.)

God can be likened to wifi. God is like an antenna or a radio broadcasting station that broadcasts non-stop. Just like the radio waves that are invisible and are all around you right now, the Spirit of God is always present and waiting for you to make contact with him. And just like a router or a radio, you too were equipped with the Creator to receive his signals. God’s transmitter is still on and the message is ready for transmission. But in order to accept it, you have to be on and tune in to its frequency.
Compared to a huge broadcasting station and its complicated operations, you, the owner of the receiver, just a little energy and the most basic skills.
Prayer is the hand of faith that turns on the switch and releases the little energy you have. Then the hand of hope harmonizes with anticipation and searches with feeling for the frequency to which God sends. And just then its broadcastings will make the speaker sound with the positive power and volume of the messages, which will begin to flow clearly and distinctly.

‘Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today forever’ (Hebrews 13:8). Just as Jesus spoke to people in ancient times – to the prophets of the past – today he also speaks to us. He is still alive, thank God!
ground rules
If you do one day, that God can talk to you, what’s next? The first step that will help you on this journey is a recapitulation of the basic rules.
1. Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
If you accepted Jesus as your Savior, you fulfilled the first and most important demand. By opening your heart to Jesus, you made close contact with him not only as your Savior, but also as your friend, teacher and counselor.
If you haven’t accepted Jesus yet, you can do it right now if you pray this simple (or similar) prayer:
Dear Jesus, please forgive me for what I have ever done wrong. Give me your gift of eternal life and fill me with your love. Amen.
2. be filled with the Holy Spirit
Jesus told his disciples shortly before he was crucified that when he left, he would send the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth, to teach them all and bring them into all truth. (See John 16:7,13-14.)
Anyone who accepts Jesus as their Savior will receive the dose of the Holy Spirit. But complete fulfillment by the Holy Spirit – an experience that the Bible calls ‘baptism’ as the Holy Spirit – usually comes later.
If you haven’t been filled with the Holy Spirit yet, you can do so right now. You will proceed in the same way as when you accepted salvation. You just pray and ask God. ‘So if you … you know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more your Father will give the Holy Spirit from heaven to those who beg him!’ (Luke 11:13).
3. Pray for this gift
The moment a person receives the Holy Spirit, he often unwittingly accepts the gift of prophecy – the ability to hear God’s words immediately – or one or more of the other gifts of the Spirit, such as speaking in tongues or healing. (See the list in 1 Corinthians 12.) The Holy Spirit gives us the gift of prophecy: Sometimes we receive it automatically when we ask for the Holy Spirit, But other times not and we have to ask for it specifically. And so if you did not accept the gift of prophecy, when you prayed for the Holy Spirit, or you do not know it for sure, you should pray and explicitly ask God for the gift of prophecy. Jesus promises that if we believe, ‘everything you ask for in prayer is given to you’ (Mark 11:24). He is more than willing to give you the gifts of the Spirit that you ask for, including the gift of hearing his direct voice.
4. talk to Jesus
Prayer is not as complicated and formal as many people believe. It should not be a religious ritual, but a lively relationship. Jesus wants to talk to you openly and sincerely as a best friend or partner; However, there must be two for the interview. If you are not used to talking to him in person, it may seem strange at first. But once you start doing it regularly, it will get easier and easier.
You may have trouble praying because you will feel that the things you would like to say to Jesus are unacceptable and incomprehensible to him. Remember that the Bible says that when Jesus was on earth, he experienced all the temptations on himself as we did. (See Hebrews 4:15. He understands you and loves you like no one else. He wants you to tell him your deepest thoughts, innermost feelings and most secret dreams and desires.
5. Jesus or God?
One question that may arise in your mind when you are praying or trying to receive news from heaven is: ‘Should I pray to God, to Jesus or to both at the same time? Is there any difference?’ In the Bible Jesus said: ‘My father and I are one,’ (John 10:30) But at the same time they are father and son. This is one spiritual secret that we cannot fully understand with our natural thinking. But since they are one in the spiritual, you can speak to any of them and your prayers will certainly be answered and answered.
Jesus came to earth and lived as one of us, so he is closer to us to some extent, because he experienced what it is like to be a mortal. about Jesus the Bible tells us that ‘We do not have a high priest who is unable to have compassion for our weaknesses; for he has experienced all the temptations as we have, but he has not committed sin’ (Hebrews 4:15). Jesus stood where you stand now.
The Bible describes Jesus as our intercessor with God: ‘Therefore he brings perfect salvation to those who approach God through him; he is still alive and advocating for them’ (Jews 7:25). This means that you can talk to God in the name of Jesus or you can talk directly to Jesus. Both of them can speak to you in a prophecy, although practice has shown that mostly people with a prophetic gift receive messages from Jesus rather than from God the Father.
6. noYou the word of God
In order to properly understand what Jesus is telling you in prophecy, you must have a certain knowledge of God’s word already recorded. Your basis is the Bible.
7. trust
This point may seem more abstract and complex than the others, but it’s not really that difficult. What is faith? The Bible teaches us that faith is an intimate certainty that what we want will happen. It’s a certainty that what we hope for is waiting for us, even if we don’t see it yet. (See Hebrews 11:1.) It is faith in God and his power, even though you do not see it (although its manifestation can be seen in your life and that of others).
How do you get faith? It’s simple: Faith comes from reading the word of God (Romans 10:17). Read the stories of how God spoke to his children in the past and meet his numerous promises that he will talk to you personally. In this way, you will strengthen your belief that you can receive messages from heaven. And at the same time you will strengthen your faith in all aspects.
8. ask
This may seem obvious to you, but in order to receive a prophecy from God, you must first ask him to speak to you. Once you believe that he can talk to you, you can ask him and he will answer you. promised: ‘Call to me and I’ll answer you. I’ll tell you the big and unavailable things you don’t know’ (Jeremiah 33:3). So call and wait for a reply!
9. either pfrantic
Your mood – your attitude to the point, the attitude of the heart and motives – help determine how clearly you will be able to receive news from heaven. One of the prerequisites that God has determined for receiving his words is that you will come before him in humility. You have to realize that you yourself are weak, you don’t know all the answers, and that’s why you need him. The Bible says: ‘However, we have this treasure in clay vessels, so that it can be seen that this immense power is God’s and it is not of us’ (2 Corinthians 4:7). You must be willing to realize that you know and know very little. You are an empty container waiting to be filled. And when God speaks, you must give him credit and give him praise. This power and gift comes from him, not you.
10. Ask God to help you be open as you receive messages from Him
In order to receive God’s messages, you must be perceptive. You must have an open mind and heart. You have to be ready to accept everything it tells you, even if it goes against your expectations, you don’t like it or you don’t understand it perfectly.
If you are asking him for an answer to a problem on which you have already made up your mind and already know what you want, even then God can clearly speak to you if you are willing to put your personal opinions and wishes aside. Having your own opinions and ideas is natural, but you must ask God to temporarily block them and clear your mind of all prejudices if you want to know his opinion and his ideas.
Once you have asked God to do so, believe that what you hear is from him. If it supports your previous feelings, it will encourage you to be on the right path and you can step out with his blessing. If the message is different, you will soon know that its wisdom will surpass your own. Your idea might not be bad, but it will be much better.
***
Even listening to God is about communication. If God ever tells you something you just don’t feel like, tell him. Together you can find a more feasible way. He accepts you as you are and where you are currently on your journey through life and understands your limits and doubts.
*
Pray for the gift of prophecy! Throughout the Old and New Testaments, God always spoke to his children and guided them, comforted, encouraged and admonished them. You too can hear his voice every day. Apostle Paul said: ‘I would like you all to … have a prophetic gift’ (1 Corinthians 14:5).
*
‘Do not neglect the gift given to you’ (1 Timothy 4:14). You have to practice your gift, you have to use it. Each exercise requires effort. You have to give something out of yourself, but it’s always worth it.
*
According to the Bible, we know what is true and what is a lie. It is our foundation, our guide, our role model and scale, by which we measure everything, including the words that God sends us today. It is the norm according to which we check all truth and error.
we begin
No beginning is easy. For most people, it is most difficult to learn to calm down, to be willing to give up any ideas and to open their minds and hearts to God’s thoughts and paths of His Spirit, which are different from ours.
In order to receive the message from Jesus, you must forget your thoughts for a moment. The first step is to believe that there is a spiritual realm and that someone in it wants to communicate with you. The second is to be willing to ignore your own thoughts in favor of what God wants to tell you.
Now you’re really ready to go for it. Start by finding a quiet place and talking to Jesus for a while. Tell him what’s bothering you. Tell him how much he means to you. Thank him for his love. Thank him for all the good things he has done for you in life. Remember all the good things you have. God likes it when we respect him and express it. ‘Enter his gates with thanksgiving, into his courtyard with praises; bless his name with gratitude!’ (Psalm 100:4).
Maybe you have a specific question that you would like to ask Jesus. Feel free to ask him. You will receive a specific answer to a specific prayer. Maybe you don’t have anything specific in mind, but you’d like to see if he wants to tell you something. Either way, tell him why you want him to speak to you, and then quiet down and focus on him. By closing your eyes, you will exclude distractions from those around you.
Now concentrate and listen with your spirit. Silence in anticipation is a manifestation of your faith. You are showing your faith in the fact that the Creator loves you and answers you. And it is during these quiet moments waiting for God with respect, silence, humility and patience that he can speak to you.
Sometimes God speaks in such a way that he instills a verse or passage from the Bible that you have read or memorized before in your mind. If you apply this verse in a given situation or when you decide to decide, you can find the clear and simple answer you are looking for.
Other times, Jesus can tell you something you’ve never heard before – words like he’s never spoken to anyone before. The message may sound very formal or may come in the style of common speech. God can express himself in any way about any matter, but he will usually speak to us in a way that is most acceptable and understandable to us.
Grab the first thing that comes to your heart or mind, for that is God’s message for you. It is similar to the simultaneous translation: ‘You hear’ one phrase or a sentence after another. If you say, write or record the first part, Jesus will give you more. Every time you repeat what he told you, it proves your confidence that the message was from God. It is a manifestation of your faith and it makes him happy.
From the beginning, it happens that people consider this quiet inner voice to be their thoughts. However, it is important that you admit that God is talking to you. When you sincerely asked Jesus to speak to you, he will speak. And when he speaks, you have to admit that what he says is from him. ‘Ask and it will be given to you’ (Matthew 7:7). God feeds the spiritually hungry with good things. (See Luke 1:53.) And here comes the importance of faith, because faith helps you believe in God’s promises that if you call him, you will receive an answer.
Don’t try to think, break down or judge the message when it comes; Accept her and be grateful to God for her.
When you receive a message from God, you can feel one of many moods. Some people feel a wave of excitement and euphoria, others get nervous or cry, others start laughing, but many do not feel anything unusual. Sometimes someone feels something and sometimes not. Whether you feel overwhelmed or not, it doesn’t change the credibility of the message. ‘After all, we live from faith, not from what we see’ (2 Corinthians 5:7) – and certainly not from what we feel.
Don’t expect to get a long fluent message when you first try to listen to God (although that can happen too). Usually, with time and with the experience gained in prophesying, your messages will be more detailed and comprehensive. So train and practice. And above all, don’t give up!
Don’t be discouraged if you start with a ‘baby’ gift of prophecy and only get one or two phrases or verses, even though you were hoping for something longer. Don’t stop! Let it be encouraged by the fact that you have at least heard something. You will get more in your next attempts. Art improves through practice. Also remember that the message from the sky doesn’t have to be long to be good. Sometimes God will answer your question with just one sentence. Of course, before you return to your duties, it is a good idea to wait if Jesus wants to add something else. If you feel like it’s over, thank him and trust that the given words contain the answer you were looking for.
Maybe you were too distracted by other thoughts when you prayed for the prophecies. Don’t worry about it. Sometimes it is difficult to concentrate and God understands our human faults and weaknesses. It’s new to you and just the fact that you’re trying is a sign of progress. Keep it up!
Try to spend a few minutes every day in prayer and expressing your love to Jesus. Then ask your ‘question of the day’ and listen to his voice for a moment. When you get used to practicing your gift, it will be easier for you to accept God’s words.
If you continue to strengthen your faith by reading God’s written word and continue to sincerely want this gift of the Spirit, Jesus will not disappoint you. He promised to speak to you, and if you tell him, he would answer you.
***
Getting answers from God is simple: just have faith. When you ask him for an answer, expect an answer and grab the first thing to come. If you really believe and beg him and want to see and hear, you will not be disappointed. What you see and hear with the eyes and ears of your spirit is God. Just open your heart and let the sun shine inside. ‘This is my problem, Jesus. What are we going to do with it?’ If you really want it and ask him, he will answer you.
*
When you close your eyes, you will see better in your mind and lose consciousness about the things and the people around you. In a comfort where nothing disturbs you, you can better focus on Jesus.
*
He is a living and loving God – a god who still loves his children and speaks to them. You can hear it every day and experience something new with it!
*
When you ask Jesus for advice, it is important to be specific and expect a concrete answer. Specificity is a sign of faith. It’s proof that you expect a clear answer.
*
A baby is a good illustration of faith and listening to God. When he cries for his mother, she reacts to his crying. A baby sometimes has more faith than you. When the baby cries, he expects someone to hear him. He knows (God put the knowledge into him) that when he calls, his mother will answer him. He expects an answer and gets it. When the breast is in the mouth, the infant automatically starts sucking. When you want something and call to God, they put it in your mouth; But if you don’t start sucking, you’ll never get anything. You must have faith to start sucking. A baby often has to suckle for a while before he gets something. His sucking is like a step of faith.
What pulls milk from the breast? Vacuum. When sucking, the baby unconsciously creates a vacuum in his mouth, which pulls the milk out. In the same way, you too must create a vacuum in your heart: ‘Jesus, there is an empty space, fill them!’
You know what really fills the vacuum? It’s not a baby. It only creates a vacuum by reducing the pressure in its mouth, so the milk flows from the mother’s breast into his mouth. You create a vacuum while praying. You create a space that needs to be filled; You are looking for God’s help. You create a vacuum that fills his words. Power comes from the outside, not from the inside. You only created a vacuum, and that vacuum attracted the force.
practical use
Some people say: ‘Prophecy cannot be practically used these days.’ Fortunately, they are not right. The lack of faith in them causes them to cheat on the spiritual treasures that God would like to give them if they only believed. However, this does not mean that you should miss them too. He just wants you to ask him with faith. ‘Please and you will get your joy full’ (John 16:24).
The practical use of prophecy knows no bounds. Jesus can fulfill all the needs, answer all the questions, provide a solution, unravel any complicated situation, resolve any conflict. Just give him an opportunity. If you sincerely try to do what he wants from you, if you act according to his advice, you can be sure that it will work. You will never regret obeying him. Let’s admit that you may not see the perfect results immediately, and sometimes you won’t even know how listening to the Lord actually helped you in certain situations. But if you let God guide you in life, you can’t lose it. You can be sure that he will keep his word. It will give you exactly what you need and what you will need in the future.
Jesus wants us to count on him in every area of our life and to discuss with him all choices and decisions, whether big or small. Let’s see this example:
Jana and Mirek are married. Jana is visiting her aunt and uncle in a city a few hours away from home. It’s Friday and it’s been a week with them.
She calls Mirek to find out what it looks like at home, and Mirek assures her that everything is in the best order. Jana mentions that the aunt wants her to stay two days longer, and Mirek replies that he can handle it with the children without any problems. He hangs up Jana, but before he decides to tell his aunt that he will stay, he goes to the room and asks Jesus to confirm her plan.
He says in a low voice to Jane: ‘It would be better if you came home today. Although everything is fine at home and Mirek claimed that they would be able to do it for a few more days, they would need you on the weekend.’
Jana has only recently learned to ask God for advice on personal decisions, so she is a little uncertain. He asks Jesus if he has anything more for her, and he will remind her of the verse. ‘Know him on all your ways, he himself will straighten your paths’ (Proverbs 3:6). Because that’s exactly what she did, this verse gives her faith that the first answer was from God.
So he ends the visit according to his original plan and returns home in the evening. Saturday will start as usual. Mirek cuts the grass, Jana cleans and the children play. Jana wonders for a while if she made a mistake by coming back, because Mirek, the children and the house would have survived one weekend without her. She remembers that her decision was based on God’s guidance and continues to work.
After lunch the phone rings. They call Mirko from work. There was a crash that requires Mirko’s immediate presence. In five minutes after the phone call, Mirek kisses Jana goodbye and runs out the door.
Now everything becomes clear: if Jana were with her aunt and uncle, Mirek would get into a difficult situation. The neighbors are gone and there should be no one to take care of the children. Jana thanks God for his loving and wise advice. He didn’t tell her what situation would happen, but showed her which of the two seemingly equal options was better.
God’s guidance can make a difference in almost any life situation – important and less important. Without a master, you can occasionally or almost always hit the mark, but with him you can hit every time. Prophecy will become an invaluable tool for you when you encounter big questions and complicated problems, but you will also find that it will be helpful even in seemingly small things. God always stands by us, ready to help. So why not use his wise words – isn’t it the best ‘professional help’ available at the moment?
Maybe you’re not doing well and you don’t know which direction to go. Maybe your boss or employees annoy you. Maybe you have problems in your marriage or with your relatives. And maybe your work and personal life are without problems, you just don’t know where life leads you and what goals you should set.
If you have children, you will constantly encounter a lot of situations that you will not understand and that you will need to look at from a ‘heavenly perspective’. One child can’t read, another pees at night, another can’t find friends. For example, your oldest has reached puberty and suddenly you don’t understand each other. There are a lot of books that can offer help in these mini crises and you can always turn to more experienced parents, teachers and experts for advice, but why not also try to ask the creator of your children who knows their needs better than anyone else?
Maybe you are going on a business trip and have several options to organize your program. Maybe you’re going to move to another city or change your career. Maybe you’re not sure when and where to go on vacation.
If some of these situations seem familiar to you, take them as opportunities to use the wisdom of your omniscient, omniscient and omnipotent God. He knows what to come and what will be best for you. If you let him reassess his plans in advance and follow his guidance, he can also protect you from accidents and dangers and help you avoid them.
It will take some time before you get used to including the Lord in your every day life, including joy, sorrow, hardship and difficult decisions, but it is worth it because the Lord wants to be at the center of everything. You will soon wonder how you could ever make any decisions without him.
***
One of the main principles in decision-making is: Before you start talking – pray! Prayer is not only your monologue addressed to God, but also waiting for God’s answer and receiving it. If you do, he will tell you what to do. Take the time to listen to God and he will take the time to solve your problems.
*
Noah[Biblický hrdina]He must have spent a lot of time listening to God, otherwise he would not have been able to receive such detailed instructions for building the ark. Realize that he had never seen a ship of such dimensions before. God probably dictated all the details regarding the ark to him.
*
If God gives you the gift of prophecy, he has a reason. He expects you to use it so that you can receive instructions if there is no answer to your specific question or problem in the font. Then you have to be willing to follow his guidance, because only he knows what to do. Asking him for answers and instructions is not a problem. On the contrary, it is wonderful, liberating, renewing and overwhelming, that it speaks to us directly and personally, answers our questions, gives us advice, encouragement and comfort, and reveals to us the secrets of hearts and circumstances. Listen to him today and you will be happy – and so will he.
*
Jesus can give you tailor-made instructions in any situation. He knows what you’re going through and wants to give you what you need – answers to questions; advice if you don’t know what to do; comfort when you feel you can’t go on anymore; courage to testify when you are afraid; dealing with personal conflicts that you find unsolvable; encouragement to do his will when you are faced with a difficult decision; A supernatural power that comes only when you lean on it and find its power. All this and much more is at your disposal if you leave your problems, difficulties, needs and questions to Jesus.
How to do it?
When you buy a new electrical device or appliance, you usually get an operating manual with safety regulations. At first glance, it seems to you that it will be easy to operate, but if you read the attached instructions, you will often discover functions that you did not know about before. You will learn a few tips for maintenance to keep the device at its highest power, and you may read about several safety regulations that you were not aware of.
Accepting the gift of prophecy is like receiving a new spiritual electrical apparatus. You should know something about it first before you start using it.
Choosing time and place
If you are going to listen to God, you must choose a quiet place as far away from the hustle and bustle as possible. It is possible to receive messages from Jesus despite the noise from the outside, such as a child’s scream, the loud call of people in the neighboring room or the noise of cars or builders on the street, but it is more difficult to concentrate.
In the hustle and bustle of our busy lives, it’s hard to find a moment of silence and peace. Once your day starts, it’s hard to stop and find such a quiet moment, not to mention a quiet place. The best time to find out what to do that day is at the beginning of each day. The most ideal thing is to spend time with Jesus in the morning, even if you don’t always succeed. And even if you succeed, other circumstances may arise during the day that will require you to stop and find out how God sees them from his perspective.
Take a comfortable position
Your body does not have to be in any particular position to pray and receive messages from God. The best position is the one that is most favorable to your concentration and listening to Jesus. It also helps when you are not too cold or hot, you are not too tired and you are not hungry or thirsty. All these conditions can distract you, so take care of them as far as possible.
However, you cannot always wait for favorable circumstances to be able to listen to God. If you’re waiting for ideal conditions, you’ll never have to wait for them. And therefore, if you need an immediate answer, stop and ask him. If you put in the effort, you will get an answer no matter what is happening around you.
clear your mind
Whether you stop and want to listen to God at the beginning of the day or during it, you will have to get into the right mood. Sometimes it is difficult to get work or other thoughts out of your head. That’s why it’s important to ask God to help you.
Before you start, it’s often a good idea to spend a moment – just a few minutes – reading the word. For such moments, have the Bible and other religious literature at hand. Sometimes it also helps Jesus to sing a song of praise. If you can’t or can’t sing out loud, sing in your heart. ‘Go into his gates with thanksgiving, into his courtyard with a hymn.’ (Psalm 100:4)
Praise, prayer, word, singing – all this can help clear the mind, calm the spirit and focus full of attention on Jesus. Find out what works best for you.
record it
When God is talking to you, try to make a record. When you’re going to make a recording, repeat the sentence by sentence of the word you hear. When you have vision, you can describe them in as much detail as possible. The message can also be written. If you are going to write down your prophecies, you should buy a special notebook for that purpose. Don’t forget to record not only his answers, but also his questions.
Recording questions and messages will allow you to evaluate and study them later. It often happens that people who receive a message from God do not remember it exactly later, especially if it was long and full of details. And if they remember the main points of what Jesus said, they don’t remember how he said it. Sometimes it’s as if a ghost went around your consciousness and put the words right in your mouth when you dictate them, or guides your hand when you write them down. Well, then you will only know the answer if you record it.
don’t analyze
It’s natural to start thinking about what God will start telling us – after all, you asked him primarily to find out what he wanted to tell you! But if you start thinking about the message and analyzing it before it ends, you will make it difficult for you to continue receiving it. Your thoughts can drown out God’s voice. If you overhear even just part of what he wants to tell you, you can miss something extraordinary and important.
Recording a message when receiving it will help you relax and let it run its course, because you know that you will have it all available after the end. The time to think will come after receiving the entire message. Play it or read it and think about what he really told you.
It is also important to ask God to help you interpret and understand what he said. Sometimes the situation does not develop as we think God said to develop because we did not understand his words. We think he said one thing, but he actually said something else.
For example: he says it’s for you the best to do something? or says that you will, if you want? He says the next step depends on your personal belief about what is right and best? Or do you have to do it to avoid problems or injury?
Every word is important: exactly how God expresses and pronounces them. If you don’t study them carefully and ask God for the right interpretation, you may miss a slight shade of meaning or you may misunderstand the whole message.
Also, don’t be surprised if the message you thought when you received it was fragmented, vague or clumsily expressed in the end comes out as complete, balanced and understandable. This often happens and is another proof that God really spoke to you and it’s not just your own thoughts.
look it up
Often God speaks to us by instilling a verse or passage from the written word. If it hasn’t happened to you yet, you’ll be surprised to find out how alive the Scriptures can become when Jesus uses them in a specific situation. Have a Bible on hand so you can look for an unknown verse or story that God has shown you. biblical concordance (i.e. the basic manual for cultural-historical and religious study of the Bible; it consists of an alphabetical list of words from the biblical text accompanied by an overview of the places in which it is located – from Latin Concordare= agree) – Printed or on a computer – it can be a great help and will speed up and facilitate the search for specific verses.

The moment we start listening to God’s written word, we put ourselves in a position where we are willing to listen. Then God will begin to speak to give us His fresh prophetic word.
*
God, I closed the door, send me a message, I haven’t heard in the noisy crowd before. My heart is quiet, whisper your will until peace and peace are squinting into silence. I closed the door, now I bow to you, speak and bless my outstretched palms. Banish everything in vain, advise my soul, reveal your will, my ears are tense. In the sacred silence, the buzz subsides, I feel closer to your wisdom. Scream and sin sailed away in the dark, I closed the door and you are here with me. I closed the door, now give me more strength, I have a task that I don’t like. Only with your grace will I remain genuine, when I speak to you, my worries will disappear. God, I closed the door, send me a message.

God filled life with puzzles, problems, mysteries, excitement and tension to provoke our intellect, our spirituality, our faith and our trust in it and to make us seek answers. In an attempt to reveal his will to us, he sometimes sets a mysterious puzzle before us. Sometimes they speak to us in riddles and mysteries that are difficult to understand, but almost always gives us a starting guide. Then he leads us step by step. He wants us to keep looking for ourselves, because by doing so we practice our faith in him, his word, his supernatural guidance and nobility and his father’s love.
Up close and in person
Sometimes you’re in a bad mood, you feel sad and maybe even depressed. – Maybe someone close to you has died, or a lot of problems are falling on you and suddenly you find that the ranks of your friends are surprisingly thinning. Maybe you just got fired from your job or it happened a long time ago. – Whatever your problem, sorrow or suffering, Jesus wants to comfort and encourage you. He is a friend who is closer to you than his brother. (Proverbs 18:24.) Although Jesus is the Son of God, he experienced the same hardships and feelings of disappointment as we do. (See Hebrews 4:15.) There is nothing he does not understand. It is also sung about in an old song:
turn to God in your affliction,
He is the best friend I know;
You will find him standing beside you,
He offers us comfort and peace.
Leave your sorrows to Jesus,
Go to him today, don’t wait any longer.
Leave your sorrows to Jesus,
He will take them all on himself.
The Bible says that God is close to those who are disturbed in the heart (Psalm 34:18). God is not just the shoulder we can cry on and the hands we can hold on to. He can penetrate to the most hidden depths of the heart. They will ease the pain and suffering and exchange it for love, peace, comfort and yes, even joy. He can do all this through his words. When they illuminate your tears with their word, they get a rainbow color. His words are the sun after the rain and the light at the end of the tunnel.
Jesus loves you from the depths of your soul. He wants to show you his love in person, but he can’t until you let him. He wants to help you understand why he has committed certain inconveniences in your life, but he needs you to listen to him. He wants to help you understand why you feel, how you feel, and what can be done about it. However, you must want his answers. In the most difficult times, his word – written or in the form of a prophecy – will be revived in your heart. Just reach out and take them.

God wants to be your personal coach. (see Psalm 23.) When you feel lonely and need someone to confide in and whoever understands you, you need a word of understanding and encouragement, he is always at your disposal.
*
Jesus will always have something to say. Again and again will surprise you with new revelations, fresh illustrations and word images, tender words of love, detailed instructions and much more! They flood you, flow, roll over – powerfully like the ocean. Why settle for a tiny drop when you can jump into the refreshing delicious waters of his living word and bathe in them?
*
I entered the morning garden,
where the roses were covered with dew.
The voice that rang out in my ears,
caressed my soul barefoot.
He walks with me, talks to me,
He tells me he likes me.
As we go there, joy fills me,
Jesus should all know.
a gift that does not stop giving
When you know the benefits of receiving messages from God, you will definitely want to share this gift with your friends, loved ones and acquaintances. Once you are convinced that God is able to speak to you – give you practical and feasible solutions to problems or complex life situations and provide comfort and encouragement in times of sadness – you will realize that your gift could help others.
There are so many broken hearts and wounded souls in today’s world! Chances are you know someone going through a difficult time or recovering from a recent tragedy. In such moments, nothing could be a greater encouragement than a personal message from God himself, in which he expresses his love and gives comfort, as no one else can. So try to add a message from Jesus to the flowers or the card, which you can pass on to a person going through a crisis.
God is available to anyone who is sincerely looking for Him. He is not picky and has no favorites. He can speak to you as well as to your friend or relative. It is enough for them to believe and want to hear. When people are at the bottom, they often feel that God is far away. Although they know him, they feel that they do not deserve to talk to them and love them. Or, looking at the hardships he has to face, he thinks Jesus has left them. They need someone to bring them closer to God’s love – maybe you. Once they are touched by God’s love through the message you have received for them, perhaps their faith will ignite and unite with God alone.
It is not always easy to accept a message from God for someone else. It takes a lot of courage. What if they think you made it up or that you’re a little weird when you’re convinced you’re hearing God? You don’t have to worry about what people say. Jesus said, “And I, when I am exalted, will pull everyone to me’ (John 12:32). If they are at least a little open to the Holy Spirit, it will work in their hearts and Jesus’ words will begin to have a positive effect in their lives. Then they will believe. And besides, this is not your reputation, but God’s, and he is able to defend his reputation.
When you get a message from heaven for someone else, your job is only to accept and pass it on. It’s similar to today’s almost non-existent telegraph operators: you’re just an intermediate link, and when you pass on the message, it’s up to the recipient to receive it. If he accepts his words, even if he stops him at first, he will benefit from comfort, solutions or any other help that God offers him.
If he does, he will most likely return to you with a heart full of gratitude. You have become the mediator of God’s message and love, and he will feel obliged to you. If he does not know how the prophecy works, he will attribute the merit for the manifestation of God’s power to you. You know you were just a receiver who caught his words. You are well aware that you have not done anything huge, but maybe not the person. It is in such a situation that you must direct all praise and glory to God. Explain to him that you are only a messenger, and thank God with him for speaking to him, even though it was only through a fragile, ordinary ‘clay vessel’ – you.
‘Every good gift and every perfect endowment is from above’ (Jakub 1:17). Patting yourself on the back for the good that is the result of your gift is the fastest way to lose that gift. But if you constantly remember God’s greatness and your own weakness and fallibility, you will find enormous fulfillment and satisfaction, because you will realize that you are ‘a tool useful to the Lord” (2 Timothy 2:21).
If you use this gift to help others, God will bless you and help you grow even more. A prophecy is not a divination comma, intended only for personal gain or to get answers to questions that interest you. Rather, it is a tool to help you create a closer relationship with Jesus, to be a better Christian and a better image of his love. Yes, it should help you make wiser and better decisions in your personal life as well as in professional and family situations. However, it is also intended to serve as help to others – either by receiving messages for them, or by God instructing you so that you can be a better example of God’s love and word for them. The more you ‘pour out’ of yourself on others, the more God will return to you in return.
Allow God to love others through you. Your life will then be blessed with satisfaction that you are not only cultivating a personal relationship with God, but also helping others to know him better.
***
Our spiritual gifts make us servants of others. A gift from God, such as the gift of prophecy, obliges us to use it for the good and growth of others. It’s like a parable of hryvnias. bySee Matthew 25:14-30.) It is a great responsibility to use them to help others and not to hide them because we are ashamed or afraid of what people will think. Owning such gifts is a serious matter that arouses humility in us.
General “Maintenance”
Follow the following simple ‘maintenance’ steps to keep your ‘receiver’ in the best possible condition:
Use it regularly
You have to use it often to keep your gift. Get used to it. Faith is like a muscle: the more it is used, the stronger it is. Every time you ask God to speak to you and receive his message, you show that you believe in this method. The more you practice your gift, the more your faith will grow and the easier it will be.
noti word
Faith is needed to receive messages from heaven, and it comes from God’s word.
The more you use your gift, the more you will trust it. You’ll swing through the uncertainty you initially felt because you didn’t know if it would even work. This is excellent, but it can also be dangerous. If you’re not careful, you can start to think that you no longer need to read the Bible – after all, you have everything ‘first hand’. However, this is a big mistake! Jesus once likened God’s word to ‘new and old treasures’ (see Matthew 13:52). You need both and you need to find the right balance.
I offer an analogy: Consider prophecy and the written word as two basic food groups – e.g. carbohydrates and proteins. If you ate only one or the other, your body would not benefit as much as if you eat both in a balanced diet.
You also need knowledge of the Bible to confirm the words you will personally hear from God. You will gain this knowledge through regular reading and study. The Bible is a handbook of the heavenly ‘Office of Measures and Libras’, which contains information according to which you can check the messages received. God won’t tell you anything that contradicts the Bible, but it can add a lot of missing details. We thus come to one of the main purposes of the prophecy: to fill the gaps and apply the spiritual principles of the Bible in your life today.
Some things are simply not written about in the Bible. Other things are not broken down in great detail or their application is not very clear in the context of today’s world. For example: If you don’t know whether to make your trip by car or plane, you won’t find a single mention in the Bible about which of these two travel alternatives to choose, because they didn’t exist then. However, God can remind you of a verse that talks about going slow or fast. Or he will give you a concrete answer in the prophecy using modern terminology.
In unclear matters, wisdom is needed to know when to take the biblical text literally and when to adapt it to the given situation. The good news is that Jesus promised you this wisdom: ‘If you lack wisdom, ask God, who gives to all without reservations and without reproaches, and you (that wisdom) will be given to you’ (Jakub 1:5).
encounter with other believers
Whether you are a new Christian or just learning to listen to God, it will benefit you to meet other Christians who believe in God and in this particular gift of the Spirit. As you begin to practice your gift of prophecy, the advice and support of other believers and their knowledge of the written word will benefit you. However, if you do not know other believers, remember that God is not limited by anything and can talk to you if you are willing to listen to him.
Don’t forget you won’t be able to do it without God
If you want to listen to God, you have to try a little. A certain spiritual urgency is needed. Jesus promises that if we beg, seek and knock, we will be given, we will find and be made available to us by spiritual treasures. (See Matthew 7:7.) But he does not say that all these things will be given to you on a golden platter without any effort. Don’t rest on your laurels. Admit that you need him, that you are grateful for the privilege of direct communication with him and with zeal expect his answers.
How to avoid traps
Yes, there are pitfalls, but with a little vigilance and prayers, they can be avoided. Here are some of the most common, along with some tried and tested tips.
crediting
The first thing you have to watch out for is pride. When you start to benefit from the messages received from God, the natural urge can lead you to partly see it as your merit. After all, you got the beautiful words and pictures, didn’t you? You must definitely deserve at least a little recognition for your ability to receive messages from God.
Yes, words come through you and receiving them is a great honor, but that’s why you’re not better than the others. It is not you, but it is God’s power that passes through you. As Jesus said: ‘As a branch cannot bear fruit by itself, if it does not remain with the tribe, then neither can you, if you do not remain in me.’ (John 15:4-5). Keep reminding yourself: Thanks to him! Pray and strive to remain humble in spirit and leave all glory to God regardless of how excellently he speaks through you.
Finding your ‘secret place’, whether it’s your room, office or some corner, is the key to successfully listening to God. You have to free your thoughts and body from everything. In certain cases, it is good to tell some people about your gift and share with them the messages you have received so that they too can be encouraged. But bragging about a prophetic gift will result in his suspension. Remember it is not you, but Jesus in you.
forget to compare messages to the Bible
To forget to compare what you get from God with the Bible – this is often the result of excessive dependence on the prophecy in the direction of your life. Another reason may be that you don’t find time to read the Bible, especially if you don’t know it much. Praying and looking for similar situations in the Bible that confirm or substantiate received reports is difficult, but it is worth it. If you read and study the Bible honestly every day, it will be easier – and you will know where to find what in it when needed.
Other believers can help you find a balance and use the words you have received in practice. The Bible says: ‘For larger decisions, it is good to consult with two or three other believers’ (Matthew 18:16) and ‘the more advisers, the better the result’ (Proverbs 11:14).
violator
We cannot ignore the facts: the devil and his evil spirits exist and oppose God’s children at every opportunity. The last thing the devil desires is that we form a personal connection with God. He knows how much good the gift of prophecy can bring, and he does not like that we know about it, let alone use it!
However, we do not have to fear the devil and his army, because Jesus is greater. (See 1 John 4:4.) Nevertheless, the Bible warns us to be aware of the devil’s deviousness. (See 2 Corinthians 2:11.)
If you feel that every time you try to get messages from God, everything possible will fall on you, it is probably the devil or one of his spiritual agents, trying to break your line to heaven and block the spiritual radio waves with a noise so that you cannot tune in to God’s station and receive the messages he sends you. If this is your case, you can use the verses ‘Defy the Devil and run away from you” (Jakub 4:7). You can clear your mind of distracting thoughts, for example by singing a song about Jesus or reading a few verses from the Bible aloud. If you’re worried about something, it can help if you entrust it to Jesus in prayer. Then you can leave your worries safely in God’s hands and focus on his message.
It’s always good to check the messages you get from God. Jesus said: ‘You will know if the thing (message from God) is correct, according to what fruit it bears (in your or something’s life)’ (Matthew 7:20). Reports from God are instructive, encouraging, uplifting and not contradicting the Bible. They bring Fruits of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, kindness, loyalty, silence and self-control. (See Galatians 5:22-23.) When God teaches us something or shows us where we are making a mistake, it is always connected with hope and love, as a loving father encouraging his children. Then we never feel hopeless and don’t think everything is our fault. (Such feelings are always from the other – the devil’s side). If the words you receive from God bring some or all of the benefits listed above in your life or in the lives of others, you can be sure that these are really words from heaven.
If you love God and sincerely want to listen to him, if you pray to help you stay on the right path, if you fulfill his basic demands according to your best knowledge and conscience, you can be sure that he is speaking to you. You can continue to beg him to speak to you and trust to speak. When your heart is in the right place, the rest will follow. (See 1 John 3:21-22.)
The best defense against the devil’s reception of God’s signals is to try to minimize the reception of the devil’s information at all times. He is very active with his army in today’s world. You can see it everywhere you look, from commercials to TV to the Internet. Of course, not everything you see and hear in the mass media is from the devil, but it gets a lot of airtime. Just as God’s word incites our faith in God and his ways, so the devil’s propaganda pulls us in the opposite direction. You won’t realize it at that moment, but negative information affects your spirit.
They say: Tell me what you read and I’ll tell you what kind of person you are. Just as you are physically formed from what you eat, you are spiritually made up of what you read, listen to and watch. The more you accept the devil’s propaganda, the more you will move away from God and his word, and the harder it will be for you to receive God’s messages. If you’re not sure about some of the things you pick up during the day, ask: What effect do they have on me?
What with doubts
One of the main goals of the devil is to convince you that you cannot hear God and there is no point in trying to do it at all. Refuse to listen to such lies, let alone believe them! Satan can only steal God’s gift from you if you give it up – don’t do it!
Our spiritual enemy, the devil, will do everything to start doubting. First, they will try to convince you that there is no such thing as receiving messages from heaven. And if it doesn’t work, he will start telling you that you are a great sinner, too superficial and materially grounded, and therefore you cannot hear God. His ultimate goal is to get rid of your faith in God.
Of course, Satan usually doesn’t come up with cheesy lies like: God doesn’t exist. He usually starts with small questions that sow small doubts. His questions always sound very logical. He uses our earthly reasoning – our ‘natural mind’, as the Bible calls it, which is simply incapable of understanding God and the ways of his spirit. How could we ever understand the infinite God by our limited mind? ‘A natural man cannot accept the things of God’s Spirit; they are folly to him and he cannot understand them, because they can only be judged by the Spirit’ (1 Corinthians 2:14). ‘As the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways and my thoughts surpass yours’ (Isaiah 55:9).
How can we rationally explain the reception of messages from the invisible God by our natural senses? It just doesn’t work! We must accept it by faith and believe it, because God says it is. When God chose to speak to his children in a prophecy or in any other way, who are we to doubt? God does not appear right before our eyes, nor does he very often show us the physical manifestations of his presence and strength. If that were the case, we would not need faith and we would not receive the blessing that God wants to give us when we choose a life of faith. ‘Blessed are those who did not see and believed’ (John 20:29).
What does it mean to live in faith? It means staying filled with the word. We mentioned earlier that ‘Faith comes from the hearing of God’s word’ (Romans 10:17). There is only one way to get the faith you need for this special supernatural gift: read, absorb, believe and act according to God’s word.
Faith is also the opposite of doubt. So the more doubts attack you, the more time you should spend absorbing the word. Live your faith and let your doubts die of hunger. Let the light in and the darkness recedes.
You will get rid of your doubts if you refuse to think about them. Don’t give space to the devil! (see Ephesians 4:27 – ‘Don’t give way to the devil’.) Take an example from Jesus. Answer the devil’s doubts with God’s word: ‘It’s written!’ (See Matthew 4:1-11.)
For example, if the devil says, ‘God will not speak through a sinner like you,’ you can answer: ‘It is written: ‘Plee, and it will be given to you…” (Luke 11:9).
Even after you understand and accept this basic interpretation of prophecy, questions may arise in your head from time to time. Sincere questions about prophecy—or any other dosing of the Holy Spirit—there are no doubts. Questions become doubts only if you refuse to accept the answers that God gives in his word or through the prophecy itself. It is good to solve your confusion by asking God about them and asking him to explain them to you. You can also look up the answer in his word, or talk to someone who knows the Bible on the given topic.
***
You can’t ignore or suppress your questions and doubts and pretend they don’t exist. At the same time, however, you cannot solve them even by logical reasoning. You’ll just get even more involved in everything. You must ask Jesus. He knows the answer to everything, and if you ask him with sincerity, humility and an open mind, he will answer you. Either he will give you an answer directly in the prophecy or he will help you find it in the word or use the help of others. Do not be ashamed to admit your doubts and ambiguities to other Christians who are strong in faith where you do not receive faith. Of course, it won’t help you if you discuss your questions and doubts with people who have the same problems; You just depress each other even more. But those who have a strong faith based on God’s word can be of great help with their prayers, advice and God’s spirit guided by instructions. With the gift of prophecy, it is like with other gifts from God – you must accept it by faith. It’s similar to electricity: you don’t have to understand it to use it. It works and that’s all you really need to know. Over time, God can help you understand your gift better, but now he wants you to start using it and enjoy its benefits. You cannot use the power of Jesus when you look at the waves and at the cloudy water that darkens your sight. However, if you turn your gaze on Jesus and connect to his ‘broadcast’, your feelings and your view of the matter will change.
noaste questions
Question #1: What if I get a message telling me to do something unusual?
Reply: You cannot rule out the possibility that God will ever tell you to do something illogical and unusual, requiring more faith and courage. Sometimes God wants us to do something that seems strange and sometimes absurd.
However, before you embark on something extraordinary, it is best to ask God to confirm that he really wants you. Explore the font. Look for similar situations and verses in the word to back up the plan of action. Make sure it doesn’t conflict with the word. Do not rule out the possibility that you misinterpreted the prophecy or that it is incomplete. In case of any confusion about the first message, it is always a good idea to return to Jesus; Either he will give you a more detailed explanation that will clarify the problem, or he will confirm the original message.
If you know someone who has the gift of prophecy and knows the Bible, it can be beneficial for you if you explain your situation to him. Show him the message you received and the verses found, and if he has the gift of a prophecy, ask him for confirmation or explanation from God. Approval from a third party is often a big help in such moments.
If God confirms it to you either through the word, through other messages or through the advice of other believers, it will give you confidence. It will encourage your faith and give peace of mind. With his confirmation, you can step out with faith and do what he asks of you, even if it is something unusual. But if you don’t have peace of mind and you’re not sure, you shouldn’t get into anything. ‘Whatever is not of faith is sin’ (Romans 14:23).
Question No. 2: What if God tells me something, but I don’t want to do it? Will I lose the gift of prophecy?
Reply: When you ask God to speak to you, you should be ready to believe, accept and do whatever he wants you to do. But you don’t have to worry. It does not mean that you will constantly receive messages that are difficult to receive and execute. Jesus loves you and wants you to be happy. He gave you the gift of prophecy because he wants to simplify and improve your life.
God gave us a choice. Life consists of countless decisions that we can make without God interfering with us too much. He will direct you to the word and often reveal his will to you about matters that you will ask him about, but he will allow you to choose. He does not force us into anything and does not impose his will on us.
Once you know what God’s will is, you are more responsible for the consequences of your decisions. You will receive a message from him in the prophecy, and it is up to you if you accept it, believe it and act according to it. ‘However, without faith, it is impossible to please God. He who approaches him must believe that God is and that he corresponds to those who seek him’ (Hebrews 11:6). A picky faith is not a faith – you cannot choose. The prophecy must be accepted by its character with an open mind and a humble heart.
Whatever you get in the prophecy, God understands your human nature and weaknesses and is a good father and has patience with you. What matters most to him is that you want to believe and want to listen to him. If so, it will strengthen your faith and help you understand everything.
If his request seems too difficult even after you have strengthened your faith with the written word, talk to him about it. Maybe he’ll add more details to you or give you an explanation that will give you faith. He might suggest another way for you that will be easier for you. ‘God is faithful: He will not allow you to be subjected to a test that you cannot endure, but with a test he will also prepare a way out for you and give you strength to stand’ (1 Corinthians 10:13).
When God tells us his will, he often leaves us room to choose from several possibilities within his will. Therefore, if you do not have faith and conviction to put into practice something of what he told you, you can ask him if he has any other path for you to take and always be at his will. Of course, it must not be abused as an excuse to belittle God’s news, because usually his first message will contain his best and highest will, which will bear the best fruit in the most effective way. At the same time, he ‘knows that we are only dust’ (Psalm 103:14) and if he does not give you any other option, when you return to him, he may give you a message full of strength and encouragement necessary to overcome his demand.
Question No. 3: What if someone asks me to find out the winning lottery numbers or some other detail about the future from God? What if I want to ask something similar myself? Will God tell me?
Reply: If you have such a specific question, why not ask him? It’s the surest way to know if it’s his will to know. He is able to give us answers to everything.
On the other hand, he tells us that sometimes we don’t get the answers we want because we ask the wrong question – the guidance of greed and selfishness. (See James 4:3.) Our motives are bad. He also reserves the right not to reveal things to us that we don’t need to know, or better for us, so that we don’t know them at that moment.
The common mistake that people make is that they expect God to reveal all the details about the future. Although God can and sometimes reveals the secrets of the future, he often places certain limits on his revelations and does not tell us everything. He does it for our good. As our heavenly Father, he knows that we would not be able to bear everything at once and that if we knew the whole future, the present would lose its charm. It would also reduce our dependence on his leadership because we would feel that ‘we know everything, we know everything.’ We would make more mistakes because we would depend on our own wisdom, instead of God.
God tells us what to know at that moment, and sometimes prepares our hearts for future events with various hints. However, the life of a Christian is the life of faith, and God often tries our faith by revealing to us his plan bit by bit, step by step.
The journey through life is like a winding path – you don’t always see what’s around the bend until you get there. Sometimes God sees fit to reveal things to us just before a turn when he knows this information will benefit us, but it usually takes one turn at a time.
‘Trust the Lord with all your heart, do not rely too much on your understanding. Stay connected with him and he will take care of you’ (Proverbs 3:5,6). Do you trust God to guide you through life, straighten your paths and let you gain experience that will benefit you in the end? Trust him!
If you have a question, are you facing a difficult decision or need advice for life, don’t forget to ask it! Then be willing to accept everything that God shows you. If you ask with confidence, either they will at least partially indicate the answer or explain why it is not the best time for you to find out. Whatever he says, you can be sure that the one who sees the past, the present and the future, the one who loves you above all else, acts for your best benefit.
Question No. 4: What if I follow all the points in this book and ask God for the gift of prophecy, but I don’t get it? Is it possible that some will not receive this gift? If I don’t have it, am I at a disadvantage spiritually?
Reply: God promised that if we asked him in full faith, we would receive. Nevertheless, sometimes they answer differently than we expect, or in a different timetable. For reasons we don’t always understand, Jesus doesn’t give some people proof that they got the gift of prophecy the moment they asked. If you belong to these people, don’t give up! For example, God is just testing your faith or teaching you patience and perseverance. Or he wants to bring you closer to him by praying more intensely. Maybe he keeps you waiting because he wants your humility or he wants to help you value this miraculous expression of spirit more when he gives you proof later.
In the meantime, try. People often receive only short messages from the beginning after receiving the gift of prophecy – just a few words or a paraphrase of the biblical verse. That doesn’t seem like much to them as a prophecy. They have a gift, but it’s still a beginner’s gift. The more they practice it, the more it improves. So maybe you have a gift, you’re just not aware of it. Thank God for every word it gives you, go back for more and you will get more.
If your gift of prophecy is not yet manifested, it does not mean that you cannot follow God and love him and others, or find God’s will for your life. There are other gifts of the Spirit and God can bless you instead with one or more. Maybe he knows that you need more of them, or that you will achieve more with their help. And the most important gift of God’s Spirit is love. Apostle Paul said: ‘If I had the gift of prophecy, understood all my secrets and included all knowledge…but I would have love, I am nothing. Love will never disappear’ (1 Corinthians 13:2,8).
Even if you never received a prophecy, you can use Jesus’ living words through others who have this gift.
You can get closer to him in your ‘time with God’ by reading, studying and thinking about his written word. You can come to him with a prayer and leave your worries, thoughts and wishes to him. You can ask him to speak to you in other ways: the simple joy of his presence. If you spend time with him regularly, he will speak to you in different ways, although not through direct prophecies.
Question No. 5: If the prophecies are really real and God is talking to all who want to hear him, why isn’t more people listening to him?
Reply: The basic requirement is to build a personal connection with Jesus and accept him as the Savior and Lord. Unfortunately, many people who even accepted Jesus into their hearts simply do not believe that they can receive prophecies. If they dared and tried God, if they asked him to speak to them, he would do it. Just a tiny step of faith would be enough.
In most cases, thinking stands in their way: hearing news from heaven goes against logic. That is why Jesus said that we must become small children in order to enter the kingdom of heaven. (See Matthew 18:3.) Children know nothing better, therefore they will do what God tells them. ‘There are not many wise among you according to human judgment, nor many powerful ones. But God has chosen the maddeners of this world to shame the wise’ (1 Corinthians 1:26-27). Intellect can stand in the way of hearing God’s voice, even if a few titles may not disqualify you. After all, the apostle Paul was a very educated man, and yet he heard the voice of God. But at the same time, you must come to God with humility and subordinate your thinking and reason to his will if you want to succeed and hear his voice.
God has given us the ability to think and of course expects us to use our brains. But it also gives us the opportunity to choose his opinion instead of ours. Those who choose to draw on his infinite knowledge and wisdom will see and hear incredible and miraculous things; Those who do not do so are limited to their ‘human’ thinking.
Question No. 6: What if I have the gift of prophecy, but when I ask God to speak to me one day, I will not hear anything?
Reply: Above all, don’t be discouraged, because that doesn’t mean you’ve ‘lost’ the gift of prophecy. There are many reasons for such an outage. You can be distracted by other thoughts and things around. Maybe God is testing you to persevere and wait for an answer rather than always expecting it to happen right away. Maybe he wants to see the urgency with which you are willing to receive, and only then will he give you the answers you need.
When nothing happens after a while, try to read some of your favorite verses or passages from the Bible to restore your faith and pray. Make sure that you are not hiding in your heart any unconfessed sins that would disturb your connection with God. Check that you have not missed a single basic request for hearing from heaven, such as spending time with Jesus and his words, coming to him with humility and asking him to help you put aside your own thoughts. Then try again. If you don’t get anything even then, maybe God has a reason why he didn’t give you an answer right away. But above all, don’t be discouraged and turn to him again next time. He is willing to give us more than we are able to understand, and even if he does not reveal the answer to your specific question immediately, he whispers words of comfort and reassurance to you.
Question No. 7: Apart from prophecy, are there other ways to find God’s will?
Reply: Yes, there are several other ways to find God’s will. These include:
1) Applying the written word in a given situation.
2) “voice of the word” – which is when you read a word and suddenly something strikes you as God’s will for you or the answer to your question.
3) Direct revelation, which you received in a different way than through prophecies, for example through a dream, vision or impression.
4) Finding advice in people who are strong in faith and know God’s word.
5) Circumstances that were undoubtedly prepared by God – also known as ‘Open and Closed Doors.’ (See Revelation 3:8.)
6) Personal interest or belief.
7) Receiving specific, predetermined signs in response to your questions – also known as the ‘Fleece’ according to the biblical story of Gideon, who used the sheep’s fleece to verify the instructions from God. (see Judges 6:36-40.)
When you are faced with an important decision that can affect other people, it is good to seek God’s will and verify it more than one way. When you ask others to get a prophecy for you, you get the advantage of an objective view of the matter. But if this is not possible, you can ask God to use his word or one or more of the other ways we mentioned to confirm what he told you in the prophecy.
Question No. 8: What if God is leading me to do a certain thing that will fail in the end? It means that God was wrong?
Reply: You must remember that even if there is something God’s will and you obey his voice and do what it tells you, it may not always turn out according to your ideas and hopes. Why? Because when God gave us a choice, in a way he pledged to act according to our decisions. He knows what would be best, and you can trust him and follow him to the best of your ability, but other people who are part of the situation can disrupt the ongoing process with their decisions if they are not subject to his will. With their decisions, they can influence the result of the prophecy to some extent.
If something doesn’t turn out exactly as you expected, based on what God told you beforehand, go to him again and ask him to explain to you what happened. When the situation develops, it is best to stay in frequent communication with Jesus so that he can inform you about whether and when the circumstances will change and to give you further instructions in case of unexpected (good or bad) decisions of people that will affect the development of the situation. God does not force anyone to do anything; People have free will. In this way, however, you can learn what to do if human decisions change what God has told you before that is best for you. When the choice of people changes the conditions on the road, it will show you the next most advantageous way of traveling. One way or another you’ll get where to go. It works similarly to using navigation.
It is never a fault of God if something does not turn out according to your expectations or according to what he called the best. People are wrong, but God is never wrong. The best part is that even if you or others mess up, God will solve everything in the end. It is enough to love him and follow according to the best of knowledge and conscience, taking time for his word and being an example of his love for others. ‘Everything helps to good to those who love God’ (Romans 8:28).
Question No. 9: What if I think I’m listening to God, but then the message doesn’t make sense or doesn’t work?
Reply: Sometimes it can happen that you are distracted or that your motivation is not correct. Maybe you didn’t ask God to suppress your opinion or desire about the matter, or you were not willing to let go of your biased thoughts and open up to everything he wanted to tell you. Maybe you just misinterpreted what he told you. Therefore, it is important to check the messages received in one or more ways to find God’s will.
When you listen to him, he will hold you on a safe and fruitful path of obedience to his will, if you try to stay close to him and meet his basic demands, which include fulfilling yourself with his word and putting aside your own will. God is not trying to trip your feet and bring failure. On the contrary, he wants you to succeed. It is much more willing to give than to receive. If you call him, he promises to answer you. He loves you. He said to his disciples – and for us this is also true today: ‘I no longer call you servants, because the servant does not know what his master is doing. I have called you friends, for I have given you all that I have heard from my Father’ (John 15:15). He wants to become a part of your life and guide you along the path of his perfect will, because he knows that this way you will be the happiest and in the end you will achieve the best results.
Message from Heaven -For you!
It is quite logical that studying about receiving personal messages from God should contain just such a message for you. You won’t know if something is good until you experience it yourself! -so ‘Taste and you will see that God is good” (Psalm 34:8).
(Jesus:) You listen to the people on earth, whom you love and admire, that you respect and who you seek advice from. It would make me happy if you listened to me too. There’s so much I want to tell you! I want to talk to you as a friend, as a nicest daddy, as someone who is close to you. I would be happy if our relationship was not formal, but purely personal. I will speak to you, just listen to me. In order to have a clear reception from the sky, you need to make an effort, tune my station to the receiver and try to block all the distractions – the worries of this life, everyday problems and your own thinking.
Hearing my words is not difficult. You ask me to talk and then you listen. A closer relationship with me is worth it!
I will guide you in all the ways you will allow me – through my written word, through the counsels of others who also know and love me, and through my voice of prophecy.
If you’re still hesitating about prophecy and don’t know if you’re going to do it, try it and see what happens. I hold in my hands the answers and the solution of every problem and obstacles you will encounter in life. I may not save you from some storm, but I will always help you overcome it.
Life with listening to my voice and life without it is as different as traveling with or without navigation! You can take the most direct and pleasant path to the goal, or wander somewhere…
I keep you incredibly close to my heart – yes, you, you! When I was dying on the cross, it was for you too! And I would do it again even if you were the only one on earth – I care so much about you.
I’m really looking forward to how we will communicate and enjoy life!
Forever yours,
Jesus
