‘Follow your heart’ is a credo that is professed by billions of people. It is a confession of faith and one of the great pop culture myths of the Western world, it is the gospel proclaimed in many stories, films and songs. Basically, it is the belief that our heart is a compass within us that directs us to our true north if we have the courage to follow it. He says that our hearts are the true guides that will lead us to true happiness if we are brave enough to listen to it. This credo expresses that we are lost and our hearts will save you. It sounds so simple, beautiful and liberating. For the lost people, it is a tempting gospel that they want to believe. But let’s think about it for a moment.

Last month I led a group of sixty Christian high school students on a mission trip aimed at learning about the New Age worldview. Students completed fourteen weeks of training in the field of worldview and apologetics. They were prepared and equipped to discuss Christianity and truth with others.
Part of the trip was a meeting with a shaman, a New Age psychic and an atheist, who presented the students with their beliefs and the students then asked them questions.
Shaman and clairvoyant New Age shared a shocking basic belief. According to them, the human mind is a fraud and cannot be trusted. Our mind complicates things too much, which only leads to problems. Instead, one must always follow your heart. ‘If your heart is telling you to do something, do it,’ said the psychic. ‘Don’t even think about it.’
‘Follow your heart’ was a lesson we had repeatedly heard from our New Age friends, but it is the complete opposite of what the Bible teaches. … Jesus himself said this about the evil of the human heart: For from inside, for from the human heart, evil thoughts come, bastard, infidelity, theft, murder, selfishness, anger, meanness, obscenity, envy, insults, pride and all kinds of eccentricities. According to the Bible are people because of sin broken and our evil desires, inclinations and appetites must be suppressed. Restraint It is the fruit of the Spirit that helps us control our fallen heart.
How can people gain control over their faulty desires? Not by following their hearts and giving in to their appetites. Instead, people need to renew their minds to see reality as it is. As the apostle Paul says: Don’t be shaped by this world – rather Change All your thinking, that you may be able to discern what is in accordance with God’s will, therefore what is right, perfect and lovely to him. byRomans 12:2 B21 and SNC)
There is nothing new about the worldview of the New Age. ‘Follow Your Heart’ is a lie that goes back to the words the serpent uttered in the garden to Eve. Her mind knew what God had said, but she decided to follow her heart.

A new heart in Jesus
The hearts of sinful humanity are so hardened that we cannot seek God alone. unabled Nobody wants to understand, No one seeks God. (Romans 3:11) And therefore Jesus said that no one can come to him unless the Father first draws him. No one can come to me unless my father draws him. (John 6:44, B21). We desperately need new hearts because we ourselves are not able to soften our hardened ones.
When we are born again (spiritually – when we ask Jesus to enter our heart and life), God will perform a kind of ‘transplantation’ of our heart. He will give us a new heart. The power of God’s Spirit will change our sin-oriented heart to focus on God. If we claim that we are not sinning, then we deceive ourselves and do not want to admit the truth. (1 John 1:8) We do not become perfect; We still have our sinful body and freedom to decide whether we will obey our body or God. But when Jesus died for us on the cross, he broke the power of sin that controls us. Christ died to destroy evil once and for all – sin. (Romans 6:10). Accepting Jesus as his Savior gives us access to God and his power. It gives us the power and strength to transform our hearts – with Jesus’ help – from hard to soft, selfish and self-centered to that which is privileged to him.
God longs for us to become each as much as possible to His Son Jesus. they are called at his will to make have acquired the image of God’s Son. They are to become his family and Jesus (for them) will be the foremost. (Romans 8:29). Everything New
In Psalm 51, King David prayed: ‘Create a pure heart in me, God, and renew within me the firm spirit.’ He professed his shortcomings and his deep need for God; He wanted a change, he wanted a renewal. it is The Spirit of God, which transforms us into something new, into a creation that is more like him.
We should be amazed by God’s ability to create something new and cause deep change. Who else has such power? And an even bigger bomb is that God decided to use this power of His to work in my heart and change my life! This is a source of high hope for me. A change that restores the mind and changes the heart may seem beyond my own reach, but fortunately there is God who works in me by His power and his Spirit. Maybe it’s hard for me to perceive this transformation, maybe I don’t even feel it, but because I take everything by faith, not by what I see and feel, I can always be full of courage and hope. 2 Corinthians 5:6–7 – So we are still full of confidence… After all, we live from faith, not from what we see.
It has nothing or almost nothing to do with me and my own endeavour. However, it has everything to do with him and with the new contract, closed by his blood, which he established for me.

It gives us a new heart: And I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit inside you. I will remove from your body a stone heart and give you a heart of flesh. (Ezekiel 36:26, ČEP)
He lifts us up, transforms us and recreates us. It refreshes (renews) my soul, it guides me along the paths of justice. (Psalm 23:3,B21).
He made us the biggest and most expensive promises, and that’s why, To escape all the evils that surround us in the world and to acquire God’s character. (2. Peter 1:4).
